Set as default calendar on mobile
Android doesn't allow me to set the default Calendar app to Proton Calendar, only the stock Calendar or Outlook

Call me lazy, but having to type in every single detail is prone to mistakes, especially for autistic people and ADHD

This is a critical feature, how does it not exist???

Please add feature to IOS!

Need this feature on iOS. It makes the calendar functionally useless if everything has to be manually entered because it cannot be set as the default app.

+ also on iOS

I am trying to switch to proton completely but I am stunned to find that this is not possible yet. What kind of workaround is there to add events to calendar from apps? Does anyone have a solution?

I use external devices which get their calendar data from my phone's default calendar. Proton Calendar not having any native Android calendar integration means that there's no way for me to get my calendar data to those devices unless I subscribe to it through a third-party app...which kind of defeats the purpose of using Proton in the first place.

There really needs to at least be a proposed workaround because when I add a trip from the public transport app, I can only choose my Google calendar and then it takes hours to refresh and appear on my Proton calendar. It also is super lame that I can't update these entries unless I go back to Google.

The idea of a widget (first comment) seems like a very viable solution. Google is in control of Android's features, not Protonmail, and I don't see them allowing it since they are in direct competition.
I can sync other calendars to Proton using the 'enter URL' feature available on the webapp portal. I know that doesn't help ppl who want to completely leave Google behind.

I would take this one step further (or a slightly altered direction) and request that we be able to add the Proton Calendar to the (in my case, iOS) default calendar app. I understand this may be "less secure", but it opens up the ability to integrate the calendar with other apps (like being able to open the Waze navigation app and see my next appointment - allowing me to quickly click it to begin navigation to the "location"). As I'll continue to say, this is the one thing that is keeping me from ditching Google completely.

Same on iOS

How can we migrate from Google to proton if we cannot make proton the default calendar manager on the phone?
It's the most critical feature suggestion. -

Trying to migrate 100% from Google. Not being able to set calendar as default app makes this very sloppy.

Does Apple even let you set a different calendar as the default?
