Set as default calendar on mobile
Android doesn't allow me to set the default Calendar app to Proton Calendar, only the stock Calendar or Outlook

I use a minimal launcher (Productivity launcher) where I can tap the date to open the calendar. Sadly I can not select Proton there, only Google Calendar and a different calendar app I have.
Fortunately I can open emailed invites I get in Protonmail in the Proton calendar app, though it won't send my response to the person who invited me, so they won't know if I accepted the invite. This makes a bit sense privacy-wise, but might be a feature with a warning maybe?

For iOS, this is not a limitation of Proton, but of Apple. Apple does not allow you to change the default calendar app on iOS (yet).

Integrating with the Android calendar API should not really have any security impact as it's a local access API. For example EteSync implements exactly that and doesn't even provide its own user interface for the calendar. Without system integration, the experience doesn't really match up to Google Calendar.

Just gave this 3 votes as it is critical to me. Would really benefit from having all my events and schedule on one calendar that is integrated into android.

To elaborate on this, the reason why you can't select Proton as the default calendar is that the calendar is managed through the app. In order for, at least on android I don't know about IOS, the calendar to be able to be selected as default Proton needs to open the calendar to be able to be signed in through a "less Secure" platform such as the phone instead of through the app. All that being said I 100% support this change. Proton please consider this!

This is important for apps that integrate with the Android calendar API. App categories like task managers (Google Tasks, TickTick, Taskito etc.) query the user calendar and add calendar events in-between the tasks.
Taskito does it in their daily timeline view.
Adding this possibility to the app would also enhance the user experience across apps in general.

I was looking for that today to no avail. Alternatively, one or two other widgets to choose from would also be good
Das habe ich heute auch vergeblich gesucht. Alternativ ein oder 2 andere Widget zu Auswahl wäre auch schon mal gut
