Configurable range of viewable hours/configurable time scale
Currently, I have to scroll in order to reliably see all my daily events (viewing using a 13" screen). Having the ability to view all hours from 1:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M is redundant (many people aren't going to be scheduling events within that entire range) and adds extra noise to the UI. It would be considerably more useful to have the ability to set the range of viewable hours (eg 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM) instead. Would also be useful if the entire calendar could be scaled to the available viewing area instead of having the user scroll to check events. I don't want to miss any of my events, so having the full calendar view at a glance is preferable. Also, would be useful if the calendar could be viewed in intervals other than 1hr.

I usually schedule my calendar items from 7am to 10pm. Since the day and week view always starts at 12am, I always have to scroll. It would be better if the time from 7am to 10pm would be displayed initially.

I would find enormously useful the ability to restrict the visible hours in the calendar. People tend to have very regular waking hours. There is no reason for me to have a calendar that wastes space by showing me hours during which I am usually asleep. Google Calendar used to have this feature, but for some reason, this feature was removed. Naturally, when exceptions occur, and something is scheduled outside those hours, there must be some way to display these events. That can be accomplished by adding a collapsed list of events with the option to expand the time range locally.
