Basic plan
A 'basic' price plan between 'free' and 'plus', that is a lot cheaper than the $/€4 per month 'plus' plan. The price covers the running costs of a 'free' account, and should provide less of a shock to the system of cash-strapped people used to free (albeit not private) email.
The added features over the 'free' plan would be Protonmail Bridge, so emails & attachments can be downloaded, as the 500MB capacity fills very fast even with just standard usage, and the option to remove the signature "Sent with ProtonMail Secure Email" (default setting would be signature included). I would personally be happy to keep the signature to help spread the word about Protonmail.

I agree. "Basic" plan should also exist. Same as "Plus", but with only 2 custom addresses and no custom domain. I'd take that without hesitation if it was 214€ a year, but for 48€ a year and not having such basic capabilities as browser extension notifier, I just can't decide for it. It's very unfortunate because their mission of secure e-mail is on point. But it just lacks so much and it's quite expensive if you don't really need all those extras. I really just need more space and folders/labels than Free plan offers it.

I'm willing to pay for this service but I don't need all of the functionality of your lowest plan. Is there a way I could get a plan that would be $2 a month, give me unlimited directories/labels and maybe 1Gb of storage? No need for multiple addresses or domains, just need a little more flexibility but not as much as the $4 a month plan.

Why not have a bit cheaper plans for people who don't want all the features and storage? 48$ seems way to much to pay for email annually.. Maybe Let people upgrade only the bits they desire, like I see you do with storage. Might encourage more people to pay into the system, Although it could backfire and your current customers may pay less.

Made a proposed plan in another topic before I found this one:
"Something like "Private", 1€ per month for 12€ a year or 10€ paid annually (=~17%)
1GB / 1 Address / 250 Messages per day / 20-50 Folders and Labels / Custom Filters
with the option to upgrade specific features (like the other plans have)"https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-feedback/suggestions/32566924-upgrade-free-account

A 'basic' plan would be a comfortable and accessible first step, which could attract more 'plus' and higher members.

As a personal ProtonMail user, I think the plus plan has too many features (and therefore, too expensive). I would suggest a similar pricing plan but without some of its features:
- 5 addresses (since it's for personal use only, 1 is enough);
- Custom domain (usually most common users are ok with using the email provider's domain, however there could be a drop menu allowing the user to add a custom domain to the plan);
- Autoresponder (this feature looks useful on enterprise plans when you need to show some instant feedback when contacting support for example, doesn't look useful on personal plans);
So I was wondering if it would be possible to create a custom plan named "basic" or "personal" without these features so it could be less expensive?
Thank you for your time. :) -

Perhaps also have a ProtonMail desktop app that incorporates Protonmail Bridge, so you pay your $/€1 per month or whatever it is, and you only have to have one login and password. I know many technological luddites who would welcome this simple setup.
If making your own desktop app doesn't grab you, you could ask Mozilla for permission to make a ProtonMail app 'Powered by Mozilla Thunderbird'. The program would look similar to the website version, with all the features like seeing storage status, but with some extra features, like a 'transfer email to PC' button, and have it clear if you have the email on your PC or on the ProtonMail server, or both.

Please add a account between Free and Plus, I would pay for my mail security and want some more feature like more labels or better folders where i can self select that the email go in, but 4 or 5 euro at month is to much for people like me, we dont have this money extra in the month, make a account for 1 or 2 eur, i think many people would like to pay this.

I second that. I only need a custom domain, 1 gb of space is absolutely fine for me.

Another pricing tier for those who have austere budgets but could afford to pay a bit would be nice. Say $20/year for 1.2 GB storage, 2 addresses, 120 labels, and so forth. Or something like that.
