YubiKey support
The dedicated Protonmail community deserves a real response from the crack team of Protonmail scientists and engineers. When are you implementing Yubikey or are is your tag line just bs?

I really, really, really want FIDO support in Protonmail. But it must be done right. Right is much more important than fast. But fast is important too!

"U2F support is under development." - this is a bit of a weak statement for such a key feature. There should be an estimated time for it - 2019? 2020?

Has this rolled out yet?

I would love to see yubi key support as a 2FA method of Authentication, similar to what LastPass does. It would be great if it could be the only way to authenticate(no other 2FA methods if Yubi keys is enabled)

w/ an nfc yubikey mfa is even smoother as you simply hold the key to your phone or plug it into a usb port, security+simplicity

U2F support will be available in ProtonMail soon. Aug 22, 2018
How soon are we talking here? Kind of mind blowing you didnt have this years ago, considering protonmails security focus. Gmail has had this for years and they arent even security minded. Im pretty sure its not all that hard to set up either.

Adding FIDO U2F would be a HUGE step forward! Please, please add this. I see this as absolutely essential at this point.

Kindly consider adding support for 2FA with YubiKey, including use of the challenge-response protocol. Thanks
P.S. Also please consider supporting vault storage of encrypted password database (e.g. Keepass) and the like as well, as part of a compelling service package.

Yes I think supporting U2F would be crucial to any mail service describing itself as a 'secure' platform. Let's get with the program!

Paid user already due to Linux Bridge, but U2F support will be the decisive factor for me to renew my subscription next year or not. It is indeed semi-incomprehensible that a service with the focus that ProtonMail has does not fully support FIDO U2F already.
I agree that so far no nonsense-functionality is part of ProtonMail, so resources do not seem waisted, but U2F is very important for usage of ProtonMail away from your own computer.

With the evolution of U2F coming out in May 2018 now is an even better reason to seriously look at implementing U2F/FIDO2 as an option for enabling two-factor authentication on proton accounts. I am eagerly awaiting for more services to adopt this open source authentication standard.
