customer benefit for existing clients
there should be a plan for existing clients...for example you pay the full price year 1....year 2 5% discount....year 3 another 3% discount in addition to the 5% of the year 2 ...

Good idea. Many other companies do this. But I would guess that they know that when you are 'entrenched' the the Proton ecosystem it would be too much hassle to leave. Thus you would pay anyway so why discount?

I agree. Proton plans are quite expensive compared to other popular providers like Google, Apple and Microsoft. The very least Proton can do is offer discounts if we keep our subscriptions long term.

Applying a discount for recurring users is great for retention! I have several subscriptions that I am very loyal to for this reason.
