Great idea. Or even just a way to set an email for any login. Right now it just notifies through the Proton Mail app but no actual email alert

Saw the comment about proton Sentinel, that's valuable. Still think that emails about usual login locations is a baseline feature for a security focused service.

Proton can already send you emails on login attempts: you can learn more here:

On paid Proton plans you can choose to enable Proton Sentinel. This will send you emails with IP address that you can use to track down the person. Also it will also send it to your recovery email address.

Upon logging into your Proton account, you can see and revoke sign in attempts: https://account.proton.me/u/18/mail/security

Yes please, I am using GrapheneOS so I am blind because Proton notifications only relay on PlayServices...
I could get hacked without being informed

Some pointers regarding this feature
- The alternate email address could be the recovery email address
- Any attempted login of the account username will be notified via email and/or via push-notification. (similar to Google)

It doesn't matter if you have 2FA enabled you want to know if there is anyone trying to login to your account.

I see receiving notifications via alternative methods as ↣Important.

No, not everyone has 2FA enabled (i'll even go so far and say; some, might not even know what 2FA - IS.)
