Remove the .ch domain
All accounts ProtonMail bring by default the domain .ch and .com
We don't all live in Switzerland
So we don't want to have there the domain .ch

It's much easier for spam emails to get in if you have an extension like .com for your email. The .ch is suppose to improve security, and no one ever said you had to use it.

I'm not a user (yet) but I understand the rationale for KEEPING the ch domain. If you provide a way for users to choose their default address that should suffice. For those who insist on going to a .com domain website, there are other services

Because even if you don't like it, this idea already came true. Now the main domain is the ".com" and that is very nice.

I can't say I agree with you, I think they should keep the .ch aswell as .com domains and not do any changes to this. If you like to, you don't have to use the .ch because you can use .com domain aswell. Just saying.

I don't live in Switzerland either, but I'd like to have my protonmail account to end with .ch

Not sure whether you are just trolling.

James Dacún: Why so serious?
By the way, no one forces you to use the *.ch alias.
I just don't see the point of this request. You have the option not to use it and completely forget about it, what benefit would it give you if you could disable it? -
James Dacún commented
It seems that these assholes did not understand the request
The petition says that there is an option to remove the domain ". ch" account (optional)
Request never says that it deleted the domain ". ch"First understand assholes and already then comment

I vote against! I want to have .ch domain too!

I would be delighted to vote _against_ this.
There is no problem with the domains and no solution required!

Pretend the alias that you cannot see doesn't exist.

It hurts my brain to see how this is even a request. You already have the option to use the .com domain. i use that domain myself. so you just want them to remove the option in the list?? that is like saying you want them to remove mustard from the condiments section because you only want to use ketchup. change your settings to use .com and dont have them waste time removing what others may consider a nice option to have.
this request seems short sighted and uninformed about the settings you already have. if anything it is really cool they give you 2 options to begin with and both work without locking you in to either side.

It's a great idea!
I am not going to use ProtonMail until they remove that ugly domain of SwitzerlandLet us be realistic, .ch is awful
Meanwhile I will continue with Tutanota and SCRYPTmail -

But what is the problem, user have a choice to use .COM or .CH
SO LETS NOT WAIST TIME AND EFFORTS...WTF -

So a default CHOICE from a SWISS provider that does not REQUIRE use of .ch is the top voted user vote?
Not everyone is as ignorant here in the US. as some of the voters for this.
Thanks for this service. I LOVE the .ch
I WANT . COMMERCIAL! ?? WTF People?

You can already select the default for the email address. What difference does the web URL make? It's a Swiss based service, so why NOT have .ch for login!
This is neither good nor bad, but a waste of developer time. -

It is an excellent idea
I'm also looking at how to remove the alias .ch
I just want to .com
It should be able to remove the .ch
And the user removes Choose whether or not

This is NOT a good idea idea. .COM is US-based. Please implement vote down in this forum.
