Proton Browser
Proton Browser
I would Like to see a Browser like chrome, firefox, or Brave. But without the tracking and also it being based in the same location as protonmail would mean its secure and safe to use.
With companys like google buying up all the alternative browsers I think this a needed program/app. What good is the secure email when Chrome is snap shoting and keylogging your protonmail logins.

I understand the wish from a user standpoint, but not from a tech perspective. Browser development is perhaps one of the hardest task a large (!) software dev team can endure.

I'd use a Proton Browser but I clearly don't need one

Was about to create the same idea myself, but saw it was already tehre with tons of support! However, it does not seem to get love from Proton though, since the idea was shared 2017 (5 years ago) with this many upvotes and is not even planned. Too bad :(
Would love to have a browser that has also capabilities built-in to switch to Tor network and browser Deep Web as privately as possible. Perhaps combining strenghts with Proton VPN etc.

I would like to see Proton develop a secure browser. Such a tool would round out the complete suite of products. A proton secure browser, using proton VPN, accessing Proton Mail/Drive. Proton would be the first company to offer a complete package for secure internet access.

Creating another browser would be like: https://xkcd.com/927/
Not to mention creating and maintaining a browser is no easy feat. So browser from scratch is out of the question. At best proton would just fork chromium and add good defaults & extensions, aka what brave is. (Sure they could fork firefox but firefox has been falling behind due to their massive budget cuts, RIP King. )Either way this is a waste of time and we already have plenty of options. I'd much rather Proton keep making their cloud ecosystem better and better.

That is what Librewolf and Ungoogled chrome is for, they have increased Security Features. If you use Brave, and Firefox you can increase your security some what if you use addons.

Rather than creating a new web browser, I would love them to provide support to an Open Source Web Browser like GNOME Web.

A Proton Browser would be more interesting and universally useful than calander etc. Make is super secure. Top priority is privacy. Make it simple, sleek, and good looking. It would be a huge success.

I seem to agree with several commenters. ProtonMail should focus on email. They can build a browser when they are happy with the function of the email service.

There are already many excellent browsers that pay attention to privacy, such as brave, Firefox, and TOR. I oppose Protonmail's development of browsers and should put the resource movement elsewhere.

They have too much to fix on their email services first. There are many great, safe browsers already. This would be nice, but it isn't a priority -- we can't even "preview" files yet and have to download them, for goodness sake.
