Personal Data Removal
A new service focused around removing personal data from sites like TruePeopleSearch and Whitepages. Since the whole idea of Proton is focused around privacy, I believe it would make a great addition to the current services provided by Proton. It would make it a perfect tool for new users who getting into privacy control and for current users who are serious about their privacy. Let me know what you guys think!

It feel good to know that, I'm not alone with this idea. I hope to see this idea going up faster in the roadmap.
The must could be to list all of my datas owned by databrokers that I can ask to remove but also the datas that leaks, to deal with it.
A collaboration with already existing services like incogni or haveibeenpwned can be a solution.
I'm tired to subscibe to these others services without any proof that they will not use my datas to others purposes than to search it across the web.

That's really a great idea! Enforcing our right to control our data is really complicated, so having a service like this emerging from a trusted organization would be a real boost for the privacy of millions of people, and a great, quite coherent addition to the Proton ecosystem.

I have been using Incogni.com, they submit the formal requests on my behalf to data brokers so they remove any data about me from their databases. Since there are 1000s of data brokers and I am not a lawyer I couldn't do this myself. It's reassuring that my most private personal data is not sold and bought for who knows what purposes.

Yeah, this would hugely improve privacy.

Yes please! The issue I have with these other services is how much personal information you have to counter-intuitively share with them, so I'd rather entrust this task with an established and reputable company with a relatively clean record such as Proton.

We discussed this on the Community Discord the other day. A collab with another company could work as well. Seems like a match made in heaven.
Currently testing Privacy Bee, expensive but I want to see what it does.

I love this idea, I've started using Privacy Bee. Maybe a collab with another company instead of rebuilding this from the ground.
The Privacy Bee thing is a test from my side, just to see how effective it is. Can't draw conclusions yet.

I second this proposal. I love the Proton suite, but overall, it remains a very nerdy brand, and the privacy gains sometimes feel theoretical.
Due to the extra effort, most people will never switch their mail account to Proton. The same goes for VPN: "browsing privately" means nothing if cookies continue collecting data about me in the background. "OMG, guys, my IPS can no longer see my DNS lookup when I turn on the VPN" 🤓🤓.
Proton Pass is a step in the right direction, adding further layers between me and entities seeking to profile me. I am actively using the email aliases for all new signups and changing old ones. But again, this is just me being an absolute nerd/ technical person who approaches privacy more like a hobby.
I think something along OP's original proposal is the right step: more 'real' privacy. I find incogni.com and similar enticing. Something like it would add to the Proton brand. It would be a funnel for people, inspiring them to delve more into privacy and other Proton products.

A real Personal Information Removal Service like Incogni but it's not a Surfshark fraud. I would trust Proton, since it's using and Zero Trust and Zero Acess techno.
