Contact Application
I suggest that Proton develop a contact application similar to the Contact application that Apple has.

fully agreeing, definitely and absolutely agreeing. We need a contact application
2 reasons:
- confort of use
- confidentiality. What is the value of having a secure email system if all your contacts are visible ? Most of us are aware that even encrypted mails show the recipients and the subject line, but showing **all** your contacts, including multiple email-adresses, including those with whom you phone, is yet another thing !I really appreciate protonmail. To me, the missing contact application is the major problem of protonmail.

While the contacts app in the mail client is better than nothing, it's unwieldy and unusable by those that use contacts frequently. It requires too many interactions to find our contacts and doesn't integrate well with other apps.
For the most part, we're better of using the default contacts app on our devices, which I have to do with my extensive contact lists.
Please make this happen soon, a standalone Proton Contacts app would be a huge godsend! Thanks for reading.

Une application contact permettrait de réduire notre dépendance aux GAFAM. Merci pour votre travail

Please. My contacts contain some of my most private data, as others have mentioned. It would fit in perfectly with the Proton environment, which is something I've been looking for for years as a substitute to Google Contacts. thank you so much https://fmapps.org

This, notes, and maps would complete the proton ecosystem for me! 10/10 company and service. I’ve convinced dozens of people to make the switch (and personally worked with them on setting up their password manager).

This would be huge. Many apps have access to my contacts, and I have a lot of sensitive information there. Codes, addresses, etc.
Maybe an option to just sync whatever I put in my apple contacts and then transfer and delete everything but the name and number automatically.
I could put extra sensitive contacts only in the proton app that isn’t integrated with my other apps.

This would be hugely useful, especially if the app was to sync changes from the phone to proton when edits are made

While I understand the need to separate Proton Contact from Android/iOS API (otherwise it compromises the whole point of encrypted contact), but modern smartphones and apps relies on this feature.
For example I can't find my Signal contacts (those who haven't set a username yet) without their phone numbers, hence I need contacts shared with Android API.
Nowadays it should be possible to use "contact scope" to only share *some* contacts, and not all.

Yes, please. As others have said, my contacts are some of my most personal information. I've been looking for an alternative to Google contacts for years and it would be a natural fit in the Proton ecosystem.

Been waiting for this for years. Standalone / integrated app for contacts would be a game-changer for me, as I'd finally transition my most critical details to Proton exclusively.

This seems to be duplicated of https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/48248672-contact-application . That one is older and have more votes!

An app with some options like :
- to manage my phone number on others people proton contact app.
To know who have it and choose if they can keep it or not.- track if my phone number leaked from somewhere
- a phone number alias ?
- a community black list of phone numbers.
- a service as DNS to know who's calling me from data already know by proton or publicly

Something simple like Google Contacts, with robust integration

Please!!
Google Contacts is extremely good, and I would very much like Proton to have a good contacts app I can rely upon. -

I'm very interested in a stand alone contacts app. Anything to get as far away from either apple or android contacts would be preferred. Having my contacts harvested at their will for their purposes has always bothered me. I've made a commitment in Proton as a tool against both apple and google. Having a contacts app would only help in that respect.

there is no alternative today, saving contacts locally on the phone with manual .vcf exports. Having this included in Proton maybe as addon in Proton Pass would be a big added value!

Yes this is very important phase for us who are trying to leave Google. This must be fully integrated to Android and iOS.

Yes! I do not like all the random apps on my phone having access to everything on my contact cards. A sync button that copies the information to Proton's app and allows you to choose which fields to save and delete would be amazing. The only information my phone needs is the name and number. Everything else should be securely stored with encryption--Address, security codes, etc.
