New Product: ProtonCut
I’d like to suggest that Proton develop and release a new service called "ProtonCut," similar to CapCut, focused on easy video cutting, merging, and editing, with optional AI-based features. This service could integrate directly into the Proton ecosystem, protecting user privacy while allowing cloud uploads of projects to Proton Drive.
Free users could access basic editing tools, while advanced Pro features—such as high-end AI editing, premium transitions, and export options—would be exclusive to Proton Visionary, Proton Unlimited, Family, Duo, or subscribers to "ProtonCut Plus," a new subscription that, like VPN Plus or Mail Plus, offers only the premium benefits specific to ProtonCut. ProtonCut Plus would not include additional advantages such as extra storage or benefits for other Proton services. It strictly provides premium features solely for ProtonCut, without extending any premium benefits to other Proton products. In this way, anyone could use the service for free with limited capabilities, while premium plan holders get the full power and feature set.
The goal is to create something as intuitive and user-friendly as CapCut, while ensuring data protection and secure cloud storage built into Proton Drive. This would expand Proton’s ecosystem and take advantage of its existing infrastructure, like using Proton Drive to save projects for video editing, creating a unique privacy-first video editor.
