Bounded Grid
Hi Proton team,
I'd like to request the ability to set a bounded grid in Proton Sheets, essentially, the ability to define the last column (and/or row) of a spreadsheet so that anything beyond it is not displayed.
Currently, Proton Sheets uses an unbounded grid, meaning the spreadsheet extends infinitely to the right and downward. While functional, this creates a lot of visual noise when working with small, focused spreadsheets. The endless empty columns make it harder to stay focused on the actual data.
Google Sheets handles this well by allowing users to delete columns entirely, shrinking the sheet's total width so that only the relevant columns are visible. There are no empty columns trailing off to the right, which results in a much cleaner and more intentional layout.
The requested behavior would be:
right-clicking a column header and selecting "Delete column" (or similar) permanently removes it from the grid rather than simply shifting data and regenerating a new empty column at the end.
the sheet boundary shrinks accordingly, just like in Google Sheets.
This would be especially useful for structured documents like trackers, schedules, and habit logs where the spreadsheet is designed with a specific fixed layout in mind.
Thank you for considering this. Proton Sheets is a great addition to the suite and I look forward to using it once this feature is implemented.
