Andy Yen steps aside
The user base most likely to go all-in with Proton are the least likely to approve of Yen's AI delirium. (I'm referencing the latest 404 Media article.)
We don't want a product that is AI coded. And we don't want the people hard at work, making Proton a viable alternative to big tech, being treated like garbage - like they work for Big Tech.
Proton needs a new CEO.

I used to work for tyrants who operated like Andy Yen, all in the name of profits. It put me in the hospital, and to this day, I have all sorts of chronic health issues from being in a toxic work environment for years.
I will not support a company that bullies its employees, nor will I support a company that goes this far in on AI.
When my subscription is up for renewal, if Andy Yen is still CEO, I'm gone. Get him out of there. -

I have Proton Unlimited, and loved it, until this. A psychotic CEO who can't read the room, treats employees as liabilities, throws away the trust and reputation that built the company, and is apparently clueless regarding software development, is simply too much. I am immediately looking for alternatives.

If the current leadership does not step down, I'll be canceling my subscription. This is the only way I can trust the company again.
Proton employees deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. I also want to see a public commitment to a company culture change. I won't give my money to another toxic tech company.
The proton user base may be less interested in the "move fast and break things" method of other companies, so looking at peers in the space and emulating them is an unwise business strategy.

I am going to cancel within a week if he isn't gone or publicly in the process of being ousted. This is my final straw.

Andy Yen and this whole AI initiative is contributing to Proton's downfall. I am cancelling my subscription and moving to Fastmail unless this is resolved.

In the 404 article Andy Yen said that "Perception is more important than truth, the truth doesn’t matter if you don’t win on perception."
The perception is that his position is now untenable, with a complete loss of respect as CEO. This means that the only thing left for him to do is to resign and offer a sincere apology to all the employees that he mistreated.

Unacceptable behavior of Andy Yen. I cancelled my family subscription because of him.

I really hope Andy pays attention to this forum as much as he pays attention to Reddit. FYI there is not amount of "prompting better" that can make a good CEO. He needs to be fired ASAP he violated the trust for this entire community. I've spent years migrating my business to Proton and will now cancel. Congrats on ensuring you will NOT reach your growth objectives Andy.

I'm with Proton because I won't deal with ******* tech bros in AI psychosis. Andy Yen needs to step down and Proton must restore and secure it's core values for the future.

Registered under simplelogin because I don't think people like this need to know my Protonmail account. I need an email service that is safe, and I'm incredibly disappointed that Proton may no longer be one. Treat your people better, give your customers a service that works, and stop with this AI stuff.

As a Visionary member, software engineer and people leader, this article was horrifying to read. I support the petition and expect whistleblowers to be protected. There should be a vote of no confidence put forward, especially on the foundation side. There’s no way we should expect him to hold a position of trust on the board.

Cancelling my subscription this weekend while I figure out where to migrate to. This is beyond disappointing.
However, if butler and yen are fired, that could be forgivable then; I want to support their employees, but not this embarrassment of executives.

I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn about what has been going on recently at Proton.
Andy Yen needs to address this and make a public statement apologising for how employees have been treated. No employee should ever feel intimidate and belittled or afraid to speak up about their concerns, particularly when it comes to security and quality of products that millions of people rely on! I joined proton for its reputation around security privacy and trust.
Any Yen needs to listen about concerns of his employees and the wider public and take accountability.
I look forward to hearing a public apology from Andy Yen.
CEOs don't bully or intimidate. They should listen and take note about concerns seriously and work with their teams to make better products.

Jumped in from Google 2 month ago, can't a tech company simply be normal ? I want secured e-mail coded with care, not rushed on the order of a tech-bro AI-loving CEO
