3. Edit existing filter instead of creating new one each time

   The current button to add a filter to a certain type of email doesn't look for existing filters. Hence, it is not possible to add a new condition to an existing filter.
   The user has to manually go to the settings, look for the filter and edit it.
   This is specially painful when the number of filters is actually limited, and it increases clutter since the user is tempted to create redundant filters with just new conditions, and indexed naming strategies (Filter01, Filter01-Copy or whatever)...

4. [Proton Pass] wont allow edit of weak passwords - remove this feature

   This is a copy of a message I send to the dev team via the "bug report".

   Since a recent update, the Proton Pass extension in firefox wont allow me to save or edit a password if it's considered weak (too short, not enough special characters)

   This is new, and profoundly frustrating. Please remove this feature, or at least allow user to disable it via settings.

   Sometimes, we use weak password with good reasons. Some old websites wont allow long password and we have to use weak ones.
   Sometimes, we use weak password with bad reasons : type it often, and the risk profile is very low.
   Sometimes, user want to do what the **** they want without judgement from a password manager.

   By blocking users out of their workflow, your pushing us away from your product. Best case, we'll use and insecure password that we will reuse somewhere else, and what's the point of a password manager then ?
   Worst case, we switch away from a password manager altogether.

   I switched away from windows onto Linux because I'm sick of my computer thinking it knows better than me. I wont hesitate to switch away from proton if it behaves the same.

   Instead of locking users out of a risky, yet useful feature, You could instead just show a warning like :
   "this password is weak and can be brute-forced : it is insecure. Please choose a longer and safer, randomly generated password. Learn more about secure passwords here <link>. [understood] [continue anyways]"

   Or you could hide in the options the ability for user to "Allow the use of weak and insecure password. By using this option, I <understand the risks of insecure passwords>".

   But dont lock us out of a basic functionality your product was designed to replace.

   Waiting for your change, i will use the "note" section of the login info to store my password. This is less secure, less convenient, and less user friendly, but will work anyways. Are you going to take this away too ?

   We would need a proper backup solution for all of the users that is automatic and takes local backup of all business users for disaster recovery.

   -Incremental backup (so no need to take full backup every time)
   -Backup Mail

   Bring listed.to back to life and make sure you can link domains again. I think a lot of people would like to see their blog back in a European environment, and standard notes with listed.to are perfect for this.

   Without these FREE features, users like me can not properly draft a bit more complex emails with cut and/or copy and paste.

   Maybe it's just me but if these features do exist, they are not easy to find.

   Or are these Undo/Redo features just for none FREE accounts?

   If this is the case and the Undo/Redo feature is just for PAID accounts, it seems Proton management needs a rethink to keep their FREE features updated to what Gmail and other FREE email accounts offer.

   Proton Security & Privacy does NOT mean anything if one can not properly draft an email, fonts aside.

   I complained about all of the aforementioned to support@protonmail.zendesk on October 19, 2025 and got a terrible and unintelligent reply; case # 4085233. Proton management can see my complaint and review it for themselves.

   Some combination of apps/platform allows for multi-account management/switching. Proton Mail does that across the board, Proton Drive does that in the browser but not on mobile, Proton Pass allows this on the desktop but not with the browser extension... Considering Proton is a suite of apps, all apps/platform should consistently allow multiple accounts switching/management regardless of the combination of apps/platform... 10. Universal Proton client

    It would be very useful to implement your proton email client so one could add also other email clients in (google, exchange,...). Really like the mail app, and would like to use it as my daily driver, but since I have also work emails I need to check regulary and do not want to have two email clients installed, I just use outlook/gmail. Sure I can add my proton account to outlook, but that kinda looses the whole idea on having a secure email.

12. New Proton Shop Merch

    Would love to support Proton and their mission more through the merch store (already have a paid plan so supporting that way as well). But it seems that the products that are out there are slowly selling out and nothing new is being added. I would love for more t-shirts, shirts, and hooded sweatshirts; stickers, cups/mugs, etc. I have been able to purchase a couple of things, but have been limited by the lack of restock - especially in plus sizes. Please consider adding more to the store and re-stocking what is out there.

13. CLI Apps for integrations / automations

    One big drawback of using proton instead of a big tech alternative (or nextcloud) is the lack of integration with third party services for automation or productivity.

    I get that being E2E, it is complicated to make such integration through webhooks. But having CLI apps as a bridge could help (just like the App for proton mail bridge, but for all the proton services (at least mail, drive, docs,calendar).

    It should be easier to integrate proton into any workflow with automation platform like n8n etc...

14. Hide unused labels instead of delete them

    Sometime a label is useful during a certain period of time. Despite a label is no longer applied to new messages, it is still important to be kept to tag old ones. For example, a messages related to a renovation you've made to your house in the past. The renovation is over, but you want to keep the history.

    For the sake of cleanliness, It would be useful to be able to hide unused old label from the side bar. Messages tag with that label should still be found though.

15. I would like a way to get automatic updates when the Proton Breach Observatory is updated

    I see that there is a new Proton Observatory, I am a Proton user, If there was a feature such as an RSS version of this I can set a watch against it and be notified if the site is updated. Alternatively I need a way to sign up to be notified such as an email subscription list or similar.

    Proton AG's high-level, scripting-based, cross-platform, multi-paradigm, compiled, general-purpose, structured, imperative, procedural, object-oriented, functional, statically and strongly typed, generic, logic-based, and open-source programming language, with auditable transparency, would be one of the most important software options for Windows, Linux, and macOS for software engineers and developers to use in creating, developing, and enhancing websites, web applications, mobile applications, software, and much more, focusing on privacy and end-to-end encryption with zero access, as an alternative to Python, Java, and other languages.

18. Overhauled UI & Settings Across Apps

    I've noticed across the apps on both desktop and Android that theres no consistent UI and Setting Changes.
    It may just be an OCD or autism thing from me but I recon it would be nice if proton implemented an overhaul on the apps UI so that all settings options are consistent (apart from app function exclusive)

    For example, the android mail app is just simple and "blockish" the vpn app has a decent UI but it has a icon changing feature (which I presume is implemented as a censorship hiding thing) like a dark mode which isnt present across all apps

19. Android Device encryption and protection

    I think it would be a game changer if proton would get in more involved with Android devices. Android is after all as they claim allegedly open source.. but Google it is let me have all your data and we will do this for you?? The biggest thing Google claims to be able to encrypt your entire device from your Google account in their password manager section of security. Why not be able to encrypt it by the best proton?? Full device encryption???? More integration into the Android ecosystem. or even something similar to Graphene OS?? If proton were ever to come out with similar options it would be a game changer to Android..... A proton privacy sandbox if you will for Android? People do not realize the trackers that are already built in and integrated into their Android device when they first take it out of the box and agree to the terms of service Samsung for example is bigger data minor than Google trust me I know.... A form of app encryption? Encrypted by proton themselves. For example many do not know it but your photo gallery is not private anymore especially on a Samsung device your photos they have access to at any time you have to give permissions just to use your own gallery... Same goes for your text messaging Samsung phones and most other Android phones are AI integrated so everything you do has federated learning and Google's federated computing that they show you all the time in their terms of service in reality was created to give developers more access to your data not to protect you from the AI there I said it... If you don't believe me you can go to Android AOSP search federated computing and if you look just right you will see it yourself it is to give more access to developers for consumers data in their own words...

20. Make a deal with Fairphone to become the default digital workspace provider for their /e/OS phones

    Proton should make a deal with Fairphone to become the default digital workspace provider for their phones that run /e/OS. It would be a great way to promote the Proton app ecosystem, while also promoting Fairphone. Ensuring that your apps run well on /e/OS would mean that Proton provides support for most deGoogled versions of Android.

    Having the Proton apps be the default digital workspace provider on the Fairphone 6 with /e/OS would get a lot of media coverage. You might even be able to convince Fairphone to provide a promotion in which Fairphone users get a discounted introductory rate with a first time sign up from Fairphone. Even better would be having ProtonMail (and/or other Proton apps) installed by default on their Fairphone with standard Android phones so that their users know that they have options outside Gmail and Google. Maybe you could be added to the DMA choice screen as an option.

    Fairphone not only wants to promote sustainability but also privacy. I feel that your missions have significant overlap. The Proton Foundation could help Fairphone users escape big tech.
