Auto find and remove duplicates
Please add the ability to delete similar logins & passwords for the same site (that are stored mainly because of importing data from several browsers & password managers).

Yes please, just accidentally imported the same file twice. Thousands of duplicate entries :-(

Same here - I’m stuck with tons of duplicates after importing from different managers. I’d love to see a built-in “find and merge duplicates” feature to tidy up existing entries.

After consolidating my passwords from firefox and lastpass I now have a multitude of duplicates. I wish proton pass would have asked me what to do with duplicates while importing... :(

I’m starting to look for other alternatives for proton. This development velocity with absolutely necessary features is just ridiculous.

I think it should tell you about the duplicates before asking you if you want to delete them

Shocked this isn't already built-in with the importer tool! I've been using 1password and proton pass in tandem for years and finally decided to go all in with proton but now I have a ton of duplicates. After the fact, I'm searching for a solution to clean up the dupes and all i can find is people begging for this feature for years. :(

This is a must have feature.

This one would improve user experience immensely... After importing passwords from multiple sources into Norton Password Manager, I sometimes have 3 or 4 identical login options which is quite unorganised and inconvenient.

Highly needed!

Still missing. I'm getting increasingly frustrated with Proton pass. Proton launches new products all the time but the features are seriously lacking in the essentials and development is in no way agile.

Wondering what development stage the ability to merge similar entries is in, or if it’s active or rejected.

This should be a must-have feature. It's essential to actively secure your accounts.

@Proton Team, could you please at least let us know the status of this idea? Working on it, declined, or what?

Yes - absolutely a pain point at this time.
I migrated from Apple iCloud Passwords. Some set of logins, e.g. a Google Account, may have more than 1 URLs for login. When importing, they are separated into different sets of logins.
Please set a feature to automatically DETECT AND ALERT USERS ABOUT SUSPECTED DUPLICATED LOGINS. This is a feature that is present on most of the password managers, e.g. iCloud Passwords, Chrome Passwords, 1Password.
Proton needs this feature to catch up with the market!!! Proton Pass will be in disadvantage without basic features like this!!!

I thought that this was a no-brainer, but I guess I was wrong. Please implement the removal of duplicates immediately.

I think that it would be more interesting to have an option to fusion entry with the same name, website.....

Being able to merge entries after creating would be awesome.
But going right along with this, and even more important really, is preventing the duplicates in the first place.
Shouldn't ProtonPass Chromium/Chrome extension be more intelligent about heading off duplicate entries right when it sees me wanting to sign into a website for which it has no Valult entry with a matching WEBSITES field?
IOW, ideally, the behavior I would like to see is:
I go to a website where I already have an account.
a) Plan A: ProtonPass tries to find a Vault entry with a matching WEBSITES field. (It already does this.) If it cannot find a matching WEBSITES field, then it should fall back on Plan B:
b) Plan B: It should try to intelligently "guess", which entry I might already have in my ProtonPass Vault, but I just don't have the Website/URL entered, yet, based upon grepping for similar text in any field of all entries.
For instance, if I have an entry with TITLE "example.com email" but nothing in the WEBSITES field, then when I go to example.com/sign-in, ProtonPass extension should "see" the TITLE and see that it has many of the same sequences of characters, and and ask me: "Is this the same as the site you're on now? And if I say yes, then just add the website/url to the WEBSITES field of the previously existing entry.
And if it CANNOT find any reasonable entry, then..
c) Plan C: ProtonPass extension should ask me: "I can't find this website in my vaults by URL or name. But would you like to search for and add this sign-in URL to an already existing Vault entry?" If I respond, "Yes", then it should let me pick one manually from among the already-existing entries in the vault, and then it would add the website/url to the WEBSITES field of that entry. If I respond, "No", then of course it could just go ahead and ask me (as it already does), "Shall I make a new entry?".
BTW, Bitwarden has the exact same problem. If either of you take the above suggestion, you'll have the edge over the other (I have suggested to them too).
