    I wanted to request this feature. In my specific case, the need arose with two different types of items so far: logins and credit cards. However, I believe the best approach is to allow *any* type of item to be archived.

    As someone who works constantly with UX, I see that implementing this crucial feature naturally entails, at a minimum, the following:
    1. A separate "drawer" within each vault to house only archived items. Something similar to WhatsApp's archived chats, for instance, which provides a separate, organized area for archived content.
    2. The option to choose whether or not to display archived items in the vault's item list.
    3. Visual feedback on the item itself (in both the list view and the detailed view). This could range from changing the icon color (e.g., to grayscale) to other design approaches—such as a badge in the detailed view highlighting that the item has been archived.
    4. The ability to filter archived items, allowing searches to either include or exclude them.

    Just to be clear: the option to delete items should obviously be retained as well, kept entirely separate from the archiving feature.

    When dealing with a large number of files and folders, it is very easy to get lost while navigating through them. Being able to use distinct colors would help A LOT.

    Given that this was promised years ago as a feature slated for upcoming updates—and considering that you are currently working on the Drive SDK—I think now is the perfect time to roll out this essential feature.

    It is important that this feature be a duplicate entry detection tool, with an option (i.e., opt-in) to delete such entries. This way, all use cases can be addressed and accidental data deletion is avoided.
