I agree. For a long time I assumed I had to change a setting somewhere for this. I tried everything, until I asked Claude why this was happening, and it led me to this post, and several other asking for the same feature.

The thing is, Proton Pass is very good, but this problem is stopping me from sharing it with my whole family, who are not technical at all and will keep using their current Gmail accounts. They do not want a Proton email account, they just need a great and safe password manager. So why should they only get the Proton email account as a suggestion?

We should be able to set the custom email we want for the suggestions, and even better, it should automatically propose the email that is most used in the vault.

I understand this might be for security purposes, to prevent anyone from using another email because you want them to use aliases, but in some cases we just need our current email. For now, the way I get around this limitation is by using my Raycast (a better Spotlight) "Create Snippet" feature, which lets me easily store and paste strings on my computer. But on the iPhone, I will have to type it manually every single time.

A near-perfect product.

It would be great to get some feedback from the product manager responsible for this feature, to better understand the reasoning behind this behavior.

YES. This is so frustrating. Proton Pass can't/won't use my Identity record email to fill in email fields, it only will use my Proton Pass account email - which is not what I want to use as I got forced to use a different email for my account due to Proton's forcing of my primary email to a proton.me email.

Like why is that not by default. You have profiles, why only auto-suggest proton?

When generating a password, allow emails other than the proton account email to be autofilled for the email and/or username fields.

Instead of just the proton mail email, or a new identity, the option to auto fill other emails when creating a new account (no saved login yet) would be very useful, I use multiple emails often and don't like having to type it in every time while ignoring the proton mail suggestions.
