Autofill button within the extension. For example when a login does not have a url associated.
When I have a login that is not associated with a URL, it does not appear to be possible to autofill the login at all. Having an autofill button on each login, or in the 3 dots drop down would allow me to auto fill in these scenarios. The extension could also prompt to save the login for this site so it can be autofilled quicker in the future.

**This issue manifests on UserVoice itself.** The main login form isn't recognized by Proton Pass (while 1Password does), yet the sidebar login form works fine. The extension toolbar button also correctly auto-selects my credentials when clicked, but unlike 1Password, there's no way to trigger autofill from there. Please note I have to use both due to work policies.
Screenshots:

https://pngup.com/ERI0/proton-autofill-yes.pngThis inconsistency proves why a manual "fill" button is essential: form detection will never be 100% reliable, so users need a fallback to force autofill when detection fails.

This is a great idea. Maybe another option would be if I could pin the plugin so it doesn't disappear between the userid page and the password page, forcing me to reopen the plugin for the password. Though that might be out of Proton's control.

That’s a really useful suggestion—having an autofill button within the extension would definitely save time, especially in cases where a login doesn’t have a URL tied to it. It would streamline workflows and reduce the hassle of manually searching for credentials each time. Features like this are all about making tools smarter and more user-friendly, much like how creative resources such as coloringcraft https://coloringcraft.com/ make learning and activities more engaging by simplifying access and usability.

I consider this critical since Proton Pass fails to detect a lot of form inputs compared to what I was used to with 1Password.
This could at least let me force the extension. -

On macOS this could be such a userful feature considering passwords copied from the extension don't get removed from the clipboard. Filling from the icon in a form field seems to work fine, so an autofill to the selected field from the extension could perhaps work the same way?

Bitwarden has this option, and it has an option to update the entry with the URL so next time it will automatically recognize the entry

This seems like low hanging fruit to get this feature implemented. Any idea when its gonna happen and competitors already have this functionality?
This missing feature is holding back my desire to subscribe.

Also, it would be very very very helpfull if said button on the inputfields of a login form could provide a search button, like bitwarden :)
Like one of the famous Dutch sayings: Better well stolen than badly invented
PLEASE FIX OR CHANGE THIS! THIS IS VERY VERY VALUEABLE!!

The ideal workflow would be like bitwarden or the proton pass app when pressing open proton and it allows you to select the login that isn't associated.

Since I have a Proton Subscription anyway, I wanted to give Proton Pass a spin, just to see whether I could cancel my subscription for 1Password next year. But, yeah, I immediately missed the auto-login 1Password has. I'm not interested in having to click all around a website to login, I just want my password manager to handle everything for me - just like 1Password does. Please implement!

Agreed, when a login isn't associated with a URL, I would like to autofill by searching it in the extension and pressing a button.

It would be great to have a small button on the login on the extension, to autofill.
I dont use the native autofill feature, i prefer through the browser extension like Bitwarden does. -

Agree! This is something that coming from 1Password is in my system, to be able to click on the item in the browser extension and it will automatically (open and) fill the form of my login item's website.

I have autofill disabled because a few people/colleagues use the company's PC.
it would be nice to have the option to autofill the credentials by clicking the login on the extension's vault view.
Bitwarden has that option, "Click items to autofill on Vault view". -

At my workplace, we use Keeper for password management, and they use this "auto submit" feature. I really miss not having it in Proton Pass... as stated, it would be great to either click on the URL through Proton Pass and have your credentials auto fill and then auto submit (basically a one-click login), and similarly when clicking on a login item directly through a site, it would be nice to have the option to auto submit the login, rather than having to click on your login info, then click the submit/login button.

Even when the website is not yet open, when clicking on login items, it is immediately directed to the url for login, automatically filled in and automatically logged in. So the expectation is that I can log in on any website without remembering the url and credentials

A recently 1Password's new feature is Auto-login on click. So after have clicked on a login items, this will be filled and automatically submit the login. This is a very helpful feature to reduce human time spent and a more fluid interaction with websites.

This feature is currently incorporated into the mobile app, so it would be great to be able search/select an account result and then manually attempt to "autofill " credentials, and then have it request to add the URL to the selected credential.
There are multiple aspects to this that seem to be added as separate requests, including to use Keyboard Shortcuts, a right-click menu option, etc.
All said, it comes down to matching the Mobile app features for the extension.

I am coming as a paid LastPass family account holder. This is the only thing that is holding me back from signing up for a Family plan with proton.
I HATE when browser extensions clutter up the UI with icons, pop-ups, and such. I have all these options turned off in the extension, and rarely does Pass add an icon to the inputs. This is great, until I want to fill in a password. The only way I can figure out how to do it is to copy the username, then the password.
In Last Pass, I click the extension icon, then click the password entry and the inputs are filled in. Very quick, very easy, very uncluttered.

I also would like to have the functionality. Similar to Jacob, I used this in Bitwarden when certain webpage login fields were not compatible with the login form autofill option. Also, not advertising the Proton Pass icon in the login field is good security as well.
