Have a clear & accessible button OR keyboard shortcut to lock Proton Pass (desktop and browser extension)
It can be helpful to have a clearly-identifiable lock button for both the browser extensions and desktop apps. I use Firefox on my MacBook and I work at environments where I have to physically move away from my laptop ever so often, and have to move around a quite a lot. It'd be less fatiguing and (importantly) more secure if I could quickly lock my the desktop app and/or extension before moving away from my laptop. Just a little QoL feature that would be fantastic :-)

Make the "generated password history" cross-plateform
Could you make the "generated password history" cross-plateform ?
Because if I generate one on my phone, and after that I check on my PC, the generated password does not appear there.... also happens the other way round.3 votes -

Respect system highlight and accent colours
On macOS (and, I assume, on all other OSes as well), Proton Pass pays no attention to the user-specified highlight and accent colours that are set in System Settings. Although Proton's purple colour scheme is a pleasant change from the usual blue nightmare that some other apps use, it would be even better if it would use the user's preferences when highlighting text and UI elements as a Mac app should.

Suggest existing aliases as a username when creating a new login item
When creating new login item, Proton Pass only suggests my primary email as a username. I think it should provide a searchable list of all my existing aliases. Most often, when creating new accounts, I want to use one of my aliases instead of my primary address.
I know I can do it the other way around and start by creating the login item, and in that process tap the "Hide my email" button for creating a new alias. But there are situations in which the alias I want to use already exists. And people using the free tier probably…

Compact single line view of data field name and entry field for desktop application
Would like field name inline with the entry field, left of rather than above, for a more compact view (except perhaps for note field). I like to see the password data at a glance without it unnecessarily spread out or having to scroll. Would be more aligned with typical data entry and viewing.

Allowing labaling website URLs
When a login stores multiple URLs, it’s hard to remember what each one is for. Please allow optional, per-URL labels within the login. For example: “Google,” “Microsoft,” or “Dashboard,” so I can choose the right destination from the login item. This would improve clarity in login information.

Pass Notes - Higher character limits
1Password has no limits on the length of a note and LastPass allows up to 45,000 characters per note. Proton Pass caps this at 25,000.
As someone who switched from 1Password and uses Pass for journaling and notetaking, I'd like to see the limit increased. Possibly only higher limits for Pass premium users.

Generalize entries to allow new Sections, longform Notes, and filtering for all entry types
"Other" entries (including "Start from scratch" as well as premades such as "API Credential", "Medical Record", "Passport", etc.) are fully customizable by allowing new Sections, Fields, and a longform Note field. This is great! My requests are to (1) make the other "non-Other" entry types equally flexible and unify the implementation of all entry types, and (2) make custom entries first-class along with the traditional legacy entry types.
Specific issues:
"Login", "Card", and "Note" entries don't allow new Sections.
"Identity" entries don't include a longform Note field. (It's possible to replicate a Note field by adding a Text field to…

Search results should show count for results from other vaults
Way too often, I will search for a password, only to end up with no results, or otherwise feel like my passwords are missing. This creates panic, but the real issue is I had a vault selected (which wasn't the vault containing the item I was looking for). I've talked to other users and they have also experienced this.
I see this as an easy fix: at the bottom of the search results, it should say something like "and ## additional items in other vaults. [search all items]"
I've experienced this on mobile (android), desktop (mac), and browser (chrome).

Stop using IT Jargon
Stop using software geek jargon. Or at least, put an informational pop-up next to it to explain WTF the word means!
This is Proton's biggest problem. Not all of us are steeped in IT techno-babble to understand each feature's function.
Ex: "API Credential", "SSH Key", "Host/Port"... Ugh. Why do I need to do a google search every time I try to learn to use your apps!?
And while I'm at it: Do a better job at writing user manuals.
Yes, a written manual. Not a YouTube video!
Privacy shouldn't be this difficult.

Disable tray icon on Linux clients
Critically helpful if the tray icon could be disabled or hidden, so that when we close Proton Pass, the process terminates properly. This is especially important for the Linux client, where we often work with limited resources and need efficient process management. Currently, tray icon on Debian creates all sorts of issues like duplicate processes and tray icon staying active despite using Exit menu item.

Improve compatibility with Orion Browser
Multiple people have been reporting that on Orion Browser (Built on WebKit, supporting both Firefox and Chrome extensions) by Kagi, Proton Pass suffers from lag and intermittently tells one that the vault is empty. Since Orion is one of the most popular privacy-focused Browsers right now, I hope Proton will put some effort into improving compatibility.
Edit: Currently, the Firefox extension works best with Orion, the Chrome extension is unusable (login fails for me, it cannot communicate with the extension)

Ability to toggle off the automatic collapsing of notes
https://i.imgur.com/fgGW52H.jpeg
As someone who uses Pass for notes, it’s annoying to have to tap "More" on every note to load the rest of the text. Opening a note used to load the full text by default. Can we have a settings toggle to choose which functionality we prefer?
Default note appearance preferences:
"Display entire text" or "Automatically Collapse"

Assign Custom Items their own Category (Passport, Bank Account, etc.)
The addition of Custom Items was appreciated, it added more usefulness to Proton Pass. But I don't like having my Passport lump together with my Bank Accounts, Drivers License, Social Secutiry Number, Softwar eLicenses, etc.
The way it should work, is that every time you create an least one item for any of these categories, the category should be added to the list of filters, together with Logins, Credid Cards, Notes, Identities, etc.
This will help keep Proton Pass more organized.
