Make Proton Authenticator for MacOS downloadable outside of the Apple App Store
Please make the MacOS version of Proton Authenticator avaialable via DMG download.
Currently, Proton Authenticator on MacOS is only available via the App Store, which requires signing in using an Apple Account. This shouldn't be necessary and seems like a huge miss for a privacy-focused product. I don't sign into my Mac with my Apple Account, and I'm sure many other privacy-focused individuals do the same. This makes Proton Authenticator entirely inaccessible for such users.
I'd like to be able to install Proton Authenticator without using the App Store. Note that all other Proton apps for MacOS are available via…7 votes -
Native Windows‑wide Autofill integration for Proton services
Proton’s autofill currently works only in the web and mobile apps, which leaves Windows users having to copy-paste or manually type sensitive data into desktop programs. This not only wastes time but also increases the risk of typos and accidental exposure. Competitors such as Bitwarden and 1Password already provide native Windows autofill extensions, leaving Proton at a usability disadvantage on the desktop.
To address this, we propose a lightweight, system-wide autofill extension for Windows — a secure background plugin that uses the Windows clipboard and input APIs to detect form fields and fill them automatically. All data would remain encrypted…

Allow importing kdbx files
kdbx is a popular open source format that also preserves passkey data. This should be allowed as an import option because converting to xml Proton Pass does not import the passkey data correctly and none of my passkeys actual work. I need to regenerate each one in proton pass. :(

unlock Authenticator with Physical Security Key
Currently you can unlock the Proton Authenticator app with 'biometrics' which uses your Windows Sign In security. However, you can't use the physical security key option as the way to unlock the Authenticator app.

Authenticator Warning
I used the Aegis authenticator prior to switching to the Proton authenticator app. One of the nice features was the numbers changing from blue to red at the 10-second mark and the phone vibration activating at the 5-second mark. I would like to see this feature added to the Proton authenticator.

Make Autenticator Codes visible in App
Currently it is only possible to either see every code at once or see none at all. Please add an "eye"-button next to every code that makes this specific code visible, while all the others remain hidden.
Similar to the passwords in Pass.

integrate support for checking passwords using the haveibeenpwned site
If someone changes a password for a login, offer a toggle to allow it being checked with the haveibeenpwned site. All data would be encrypted, or as much as possible. https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords is the site in question.

accessibility
Accessibility! It's 2025, modern products should have (keyboard) accessibility. Especially for the Authenticator app, it should not be too difficult to build in that you can just go to the search box with Cmd+F / Ctrl+F, type, hit enter or Cmd+C/Ctrl+C and be done!

Implement import from UI Verify
UI Verify already has several great export options, none of which Proton Authenticator supports importing. Seeing as Proton Authenticator already supports imports from quite a few niche authenticator apps, I'd expect this to be a pretty easy implementation.

Proton Pass - start minimized on any linux DE
While close to tray is fully supported on many DE, Proton Pass as an electron app does not support to start minimized.
I've tried a bunch of scripting, but my developing skill sucks. So i guess it would be better to have a native linux app distributed as a flatpak (just lilke with Proton VPN) with the embeded desired option.6 votes -
Auto clean pass-names like "auth.services.adobe.com" to "Adobe"
Right now my pasword list is LITTERED with names like "acc, account, auth, authorize, api, oauth2,...". There's however always a very clear brand/website/service somewhere in the name. Please make Pass automatically remove all the tech-names, we don't need those in the main name. If you then click on the password, I don't care if there's a bunch of technical adresses and names under the "websites" heading. Just don't put it all in the name. Thanks!

Faster alias contacts w search and multiple select
I have one particular alias that has over 150 contacts and I need a faster way to find the contact I’m looking for to originate a new email with a reverse-alias. Search would be preferred.
I also need a way to quickly select several contacts at a time to start a new email thread instead of copy/paste multiple times.

UI language selection (Android)
Proton Mail Android client has option to change UI language to another. Same is needed for Proton Pass. My phone is in my native language but I prefer to use technical apps in English as most UI terms are more familiar to me in English.

Add “Secret Notes” field type
The existing notes field is useful, but sometimes sensitive information should not be displayed in plain text.
I would like Proton to introduce a “Secret Notes” field type, where content is hidden by default (similar to how passwords are handled).
Example use case: Storing 2FA recovery codes.
Currently, each code would require a separate “secret” single-line field, which is cumbersome. With secret notes, multiple codes (or other sensitive information) could be stored securely in one hidden, structured field.
This would improve usability and security, while keeping entries more organized.
