1. Let pass-cli create hidden custom fields on every item type, not just Custom items

   In the Proton Pass apps you can add hidden custom fields to any item: logins, notes, cards and so on. pass-cli can't do this for most item types:
   - item create login and item create note templates have no custom-fields section. Login templates only accept title, username, email, password and urls.
   - Only item create custom accepts sections with "fieldtype": "hidden".
   - item update can add a custom field to an existing item, but only as plain text.
   So a script that wants to store an API key, token or recovery code next to a login has two bad choices. It can create a separate Custom item, or it can store the secret as an unmasked text field that shows in clear text in every Pass client. Tools built on pass-cli, such as the SecretSpec Proton Pass provider, refuse to create fields for this reason.
   Requested:
   1. Support extrafields (custom fields) in the --from-template JSON for every item type, with a type per field:

2. Give developers a stable, versioned Pass API or SDK: pass-cli updates keep breaking integrations

   Tools that integrate with Proton Pass, like the SecretSpec Proton Pass provider, have no public API, SDK or compatibility policy to build on. The only option is to run pass-cli as a subprocess and parse its text output. Proton support has confirmed that breaking changes can ship in patch releases without notice.
   What this costs users today:
   - Upgrades break things without warning. Three pass-cli releases have already broken integrations: 2.0.3 changed the item list JSON, 2.1.0 started requiring an agent reason, and 2.2.4 removed pass-cli test. That last one stopped every SecretSpec Proton Pass operation until a fix was released. Users now have to pin old CLI versions to stay safe.
   - Secrets are exposed in the process list. pass-cli item update only accepts values as --field name=value on the command line, so any local user can read the secret with ps. Because of this, integrations have to make field writes read-only.
   - New fields can't be hidden. item update stores any new field as plain text, with no way to make it a hidden field.
   - Errors are just text. Missing items and missing fields only show up as English error messages, and an empty field gives the same error as a missing one. Integrations have to match strings that can change in any release.
   - It's slow. There's no batch read, so loading N secrets means starting N pass-cli processes.
   What would fix it (any one of these helps):
   1. A versioned public API or SDK, for example Rust bindings to the existing pass crate, with a published compatibility policy.
   2. A stable machine interface in pass-cli: versioned JSON output, documented error codes, and a promise of no breaking changes in patch releases.
   3. At minimum: read values for item update from stdin or a template, support hidden custom fields, and add a batch read command.
   Proton Pass is a great end-to-end encrypted place for developer secrets. Please make it safe to build on. 👍 Vote if you use Pass with CI, .env tooling, or secret managers like SecretSpec.

4. Opt-in spaced repitition for Proton Pass

   Please add an option to integrate a Spaced Repition System (SRS) to Proton Pass. A SRS will prompt you with a question, and if you get it right, it'll ask the question later. If you get it wrong, you'll be quizzed more frequently. The idea is that you recieve a lot of stimulus for weak prompts while the ones you remember are rarely asked, if ever.

   I would like to integrate this into Proton Pass because some of my passwords will be used on public computers. I will often create a password that I intend to memorize, load it into a password manager, and promtply forget the password. I hope that an opt-in SRS would let me memorize the passwords that I want to memorize.

   My ideal features:

   Use of spaced-repitition algorithms, such as the ones used by Anki.
   On prompt, you must enter the password (either into a Proton Pass popup or into the original password box)
   If you fail, you are able to view password in Proton Pass or continue with autofill ("failure" in a SRS context is not a keep going until you learn it by rote situation)
   Minimal controls for the SRS (Anki's settings page probably has more controls than most modern automobiles)

7. Lotus Notes to Outlook conversion: why free solutions are limited

   The migration from Lotus Notes to Outlook is never as straightforward as it seems, despite the availability of various free options. The main issue lies in the fact that Outlook is not able to read the native NSF files. As such, there is always the need for an additional conversion step.

   The limitations of the free Lotus Notes to Outlook converters are:

   CSV Export – only message body is exported – attachments, formatting, calendar and contacts are not included.

   IMAP Synchronization – mails are transferred in desired folder structure, but with the limitation of 1GB of NSF file size and 15 mailboxes per conversion process.

   Drag and Drop – only suitable for copying of several emails, not whole mailboxes.

   Notes users are advised to take extra care while migrating mailboxes because:

   The user addresses in Notes are stored in canonical form (CN=John Doe/O=Company), which means that emails sent directly to Notes mailboxes will bounce back if the conversion attempts to change the address to SMTP format (john.doe@company.com).

   The names.nsf Address Book is a separate database, which means that any contact lists stored there will be inaccessible in the converted mailbox.

   NSFs that are encrypted cannot be converted before being decrypted.

   If your Lotus Notes mailboxes contain calendar entries and contact lists, you will need to convert them with a reliable Lotus Notes to Outlook Converter. 8. Support for Numeric-Only Password

   Many legacy systems and specific services, particularly banking applications and PIN-based authentication, strictly require passwords composed only of digits, so I propose adding a dedicated option to the password generator to create numeric-only passwords.
   Furthermore, the current password strength meter incorrectly flags these numeric-only passwords as "weak" because they lack character variety, so it should be updated accordingly (for eg., a date format should be flagged as weak).

12. Allow the extra password as an app unlock method on iOS and Android

    When the extra password is enabled, Proton Pass only asks for it when signing in on a device. After that, the mobile app can only be unlocked with a PIN or Face ID/biometrics, so the extra password plays no part in day-to-day access to the vault on the phone.

    Please add "Extra password" as an unlock method in the app lock settings, next to PIN and biometrics, so the app asks for it every time it opens or auto-locks.

    Why:
    - A PIN is short and easy to observe over someone's shoulder. A strong extra password is not.
    - Biometrics can be used without consent, for example by holding the phone to the owner's face.
    - Users who set an extra password have already chosen a stronger secret for Pass. Letting it guard the app too makes it protect the device, not just new sign-ins.
    - Entering it regularly also keeps it from being forgotten, which matters because losing it means losing access to Pass.

    Optional alternative: keep PIN or biometrics for quick unlock, but require the extra password periodically (for example every few days) or after a number of failed PIN attempts.

13. View password in extra large type

    One of the things that I liked about 1Password (on both desktop and mobile) was the option to view a password in extra large type. So if I need to manually type it in (rather than copy / pasting, which isn't always an option), I can more easily see the characters.

    Bonus for making different character types (capital letters, lower case letters, numbers, symbols) different colors, so the difference between lower-case-L and upper-case-I and the number 1 are obvious!

14. Horrendous autofill experience inexcusable

    Everyone else has figured this problem out, it's your turn now. "Every website uses different formats" is NOT an excuse for how absolutely horrible the autofill experience is on Proton.

    The autofill features are very much not refined. I've had much better experiences with browser's autofill. Something that really infuriates me is when I already have an email alias for a website, and just because it isn't a log-in it offers to create new aliases or use my main email. That is NOT what I want, I want it to use the already pre-established email aliases I'm already using for this website, it should offer those first, then if I want to create a new alias for the same site I'm already using one for, then you can offer that option at the bottom. It makes it extremely difficult to use most sites because there's a lot of times where I'm not logging in but I need to enter my email for that site (and because it's an alias I have to actually search and copy it), in addition this feature would also improve the autofill not detecting login screens, as it's now searching for more than just login screens. Sometimes I have to autofill through just the password section, then it works it's way up and autofills the username/email section, when attempting to fill the email/username first in certain websites (which is how it's supposed to work) the autofill suggests my primary email address and then a newly created alias underneath that instead of the saved login information for that website. And sometimes autofill on specific websites just doesn't work at all.

    In addition to the login autofill being very bad, the personal information autofill is EVEN WORSE. It can't select options from a dropdown menu when every web browser I've used absolutely can, it also for me personally NEVER FILLED the second address line, even though I did put the 2nd address line in under the "Floor, apartment, building" section. Also for country, you need to make a clear decisive selection that will compensate for dropdown menus as well. Currently I don't know if it wants me to put US, USA, or United States of America, as I have no idea which will let it work properly because many different websites require many different formats.

    Autofill NEEDS to be fixed, it makes Proton especially hard to recommend to other people because how am I supposed to recommend a product to other people when it doesn't work as well and is more difficult than the free options included in web browsers already? The only reason why I continue to use Proton pass for the time being is because I spent so much effort setting it up how I wanted, if I don't start experiencing improvements I will start considering alternatives, I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. If you're uncertain about making reworks or adding such improved features, just make them optional in proton-pass settings. Regardless the state of autofill is really inexcusable at this point.

16. Proton Passkey Export PGP Password Confirmation

    Confirmation dialog of the password being set to avoid mistyping. I aware you can view the password, but some folks do not see as well and possibly dyslexic which include myself. You have similar function for setting pins in Proton Pass for negating possible human mistakes.

    But there was no template for the OKTA export.
    I had to use the generic template, where I need to modifiy the OKTA export.

    When creating a new session item, if you enter a website's URL, the website's image appears right away—which is fine. However, this doesn't always work, and it would be nice if we users could upload our own images.

19. Convert an existing alias item into a login item

    I saved a hide-my-email alias in Proton Pass. Later I needed a password for that same account, and there's no way to add one: item types are fixed, so an alias can't be edited into a login.

    The only workaround is a separate login item with the alias copied in, and then either keeping both items forever or deleting the old alias entry, which permanently deletes the alias address itself. Two items for one account, or a broken alias.

    The ask: let me convert an alias item into a login item, or just add a password field to it, while keeping the alias address intact. The alias and the password belong to the same account, so they should live in one item.

20. Search shows total number of entries, regardless of category selected

    When searching in Proton Pass it is possible to first select a preset category search filter such as 'Alias'. Each of these show the number of entries in that category. A label below these presets shows which is selected.

    When a filter is selected, however, although the label below changes, the count beside this continues to show the total number of entries in Proton Pass, rather than changing to show the count in that category.
