Paperclip icon in the item list
In Bitwarden, if I attach a file to a login item, a paperclip icon appears in the item list to let me know there is an attachment; this doesn't exist in Proton Pass, so if I can't remember where I attached a document, I have to open each item to check.

Add url testing
I would like Proton Pass to have a bulk url test option, that checks if the websites associated with entries still exist (the full url or at least the domain).
My entries list is long and some sites are most surely long gone or have changed urls/domains. A bulk test option would help with clean up.

Proton Pass for Windows to have update program option
While it is good to have somewhere to see the current installed version of the app, adding an update app area would improve workflow in many sectors, including personal installs.
I have recently found how to use WinGet to update the apps on my computer. WinGet already recognizes that Proton Pass (and other Proton apps) needs an update and attempts to update them. For me, WinGet fails to update Pass almost every time. A more secure option would be to open Pass and go to a "Check for Updates" section which would be coded to check a secure server and…7 votes -
support tagging in proton pass items
is there a roadmap for tag support for password items? I'm in the process of moving from 1password and have cli based workflows based on tags and that's going to be a big gap. I can potentially work around this by creating a custom field and manually manage tags there but that's going to create issues when/if it's done non-programmatically.

Feature Request - Launch on startup and desktop-to-extension integration
Hey everyone,
I have a couple of suggestions that I think would really improve the Proton Pass experience:
- An option to launch the desktop app automatically on system startup.
- Direct communication/integration between the desktop app and the browser extension (similar to how 1Password does it).
Would love to see this added in the future!

Automatic passkey upgrade
Apple's password application in IOS 18 has the ability to automatically update your password with a passkey for websites that support it.

Merge duplicates
One Microsoft account = 15 root domains, so Pass splits it into 15 "sites." For example, a login saved on live.com isn't offered on microsoftonline.com, azure.com or office.com.
Microsoft's list: microsoft.com, live.com, microsoftonline.com, office.com, office365.com, cloud.microsoft, azure.com, windowsazure.com, xbox.com, bing.com, msn.com, hotmail.com, windows.com, microsoftstore.com, passport.net
Bitwarden ships this exact group built in. Apple's password-manager-resources repo groups them too.
Ask: built-in equivalent-domain groups, user-defined groups, and a "merge duplicates" button.

Ios password
Add possibility to import directly from apple password manager to proton pass (on iOS). Apples password manager does not recognize that there is a different password manager to export to.

Add a visual indicator for location of secret
In the All Items list, add a column with a visual indicator of where the item is. Like an icon for 1 person (personal) or 2 persons (shared). Optionally let people assign colour to this icon to indicate which store (eg green 2 persons = work, purple 1 person = private and green 1 person is personal accounts for work)

Automatic Synchronization Between Proton Authenticator and Proton Pass
Please consider adding automatic synchronization between Proton Authenticator and Proton Pass. Currently, the sync feature within Proton Authenticator works well across devices, but there’s an issue: when I create a new login or account in Proton Pass and add the 2FA code directly there, I sometimes forget to also add it manually to Proton Authenticator.
It would be ideal if both services were seamlessly integrated, so any authentication codes added in Proton Pass would automatically sync with Proton Authenticator. This would save time, reduce manual work, and help prevent losing access to accounts due to missing codes.

Username/Email Suggestions
When manually adding a login item, the Username/Email field should feature a quick-select dropdown that surfaces frequently used usernames, personal email addresses, and active aliases.
Other password managers like 1Password have this feature.

Add Import Password Manager from Password Safe (pwsafe.org)
Password Safe is mandatory. I use it at Linux, IOS, Windows. Would be fine to import the passwords in Proton.

Proton Pass Tags to organize and quickly find credentials, notes, etc.
Please consider adding a tagging feature for new and existing credentials, notes and any other entries in Proton Pass, similar to the functionality available in other password managers.
This feature would allow users to organize for their credentials by assigning one or more custom tags, such as Work, Personal, Finance, Travel, or Subscriptions. Users should be able to add, edit, or remove tags when creating a new credential or managing an existing one.

Password generator: custom digit & special-character counts
Hi, I'm a long-time Bitwarden user who recently switched to Proton Pass. One thing I miss is the password generator customization. In Bitwarden I could set the exact number of digits and special characters. In Proton Pass I can't find that option, and for me that's an important one since some sites require a specific mix. Please consider adding digit and special-character count controls to the generator. Thanks!

Single macOS App Package with Native Safari Integration (Like Enpass/1Password)
Proton Pass currently requires installing two separate components on macOS:
1. A standalone .DMG desktop app (~300MB) downloaded from proton.me
2. A separate Safari extension (~300MB) from the Mac App StoreThis creates unnecessary redundancy and fragmentation. Competitors like Enpass, 1Password, and Bitwarden unify this into a single native macOS application that integrates directly with Safari without requiring a second extension download.
Proposed improvements:
1. Consolidate into ONE macOS package (preferably distributed via Mac App Store)
2. Remove need for separate Safari extension installation
3. Reduce total disk footprint (~600MB → ~300MB)

Improve copying of fields in the vault
Allow users to either copy any item (e.g., email, username, password, Websites, custom fields) associated with an entry via a) click to copy as currently implemented or b) clicking a small copy icon next to each field. At the moment, the desktop app does not allow copying certain fields such as URLs, which makes usability difficult for multiple browser setups.
