How can we improve Proton Pass?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Manually order pinned items

    I really like the recently added feature of pinning logins and aliases.

    It would be great to also have the option to move pinned logins and aliases left or right/forward or backward, i.e., the option to choose the position of a login or alias on the pin bar. For example, I would then shift the one I most frequently use to the very left so I don't have to swipe or scroll to find it among all pinned logins and aliases.

  3. Easily accessible 'New Item' button (similiar to New message in Proton Mail)

    To add a new item (login, alias, etc), I have to move all the way to the top-right of the screen and click a difficult to see plus sign (Carbon theme). There should be a bright-colored "New" button in the top-left of Proton Pass, just like the "New Message" and "New Event" buttons in Proton Mail and Proton Calendar.

  4. Google import

    I want to import my passwords from Google but I can't since it's not onn the list. So I want kindly request for you to add it.

  5. Support older versions of iOS

    i'm broke, apple force me to use IOS 15.8, the proton pass app need IOS 16.

  6. Copying a field should add it to the top of the recent view

    Right now, when I sort the entries in the vault by "recent," an entry is only bumped to the top of the list when it was recently autofilled, but sometimes the autofill doesn't work or I choose to copy & paste for whatever other reason, and I would like those to be counted as interactions that would push an entry to the top of the "recent" list.

  7. Sign in with Passkey via QR code

    With the native Passkey of Apple iCloud Keychain I can open a login page with Passkey support on a PC and login with a mobile device. The browser would than show a QR code which I can scan with the iPhone camera and use my passkeys on my iPhone without the Passkeys being on the PC I'm using to sign in. This is useful if you sign in to a service on a device you don't own and don't want your Passkeys on.

    If Apple allows to scan Passkey QR codes from the camera app that would be premium but…

  8. Disable/Enable "Check Spelling" forever until we disable/enable/ it again

    When we disable "Check Spelling" it works fine but when you edit the same note, it's enabled again. It would be better if it would stay "disabled" until we enable it again by choice because there are some phrases that we are aware of but red lines keep popping up which is not pleasant.

  9. When creating a new password on iOS show button to save to Proton Pass

    Please make a function on iOS, that it shows a button, if you want save a new password, so it doesn‘t has to be put in Proton Pass manually, like on Apple‘s Password manager.

  10. Passkey improvement

    When you want to make a passkey for example on github, proton automatically pops up with a menu to create a passkey. But what if you prefer passkeys on a physical key? Well, you're currently screwed. Add a option like it is when you are signing in with a passkey, that when you close the pop up, default windows hello popup will apear, where you can use a physical key. Thank you so much.

  11. Search to require ALL keywords match

    I have almost a thousand passwords. When searching with Proton Pass, it interprets the keywords as ANY match, so if I add more keywords it only returns more hits. This is clearly incompetent design. The search should use ALL match, i.e. the items must match EVERY keyword I have typed. Otherwise adding more keywords will only bring more results, rendering the search useless. If the user is adding more keywords, it means that they haven't found what they're searching for yet, so they add to narrow down the search - not broaden it.

    Alternatively, the search should list multiple hits…

  12. Add More Password managers(specifically DuckDuckGo's password manager)

    I use Duck Duck Go as my main browser so It would make a difference for me if there was compatability for that.

  13. Increase the number of saveable credit cards for free users to 1

    The number of credit cards that non-subscription users can store is zero, Why not give the ability to have the minimum possible, one? At least only one, at least!

  15. Tresore for URLs saving without Logins

    FYI:
    I am a paying customer.

    Why:
    For privacy and administrative reasons, I don't want to create a login with different browser providers to synchronize my favorites, manage URLs across different browsers, devices and profiles.

    My workaround at the moment:
    I created a vault and named it URLs. In this safe I use the "Login" function in the "URLs" vault to create categories, e.g. "Security", “News” and only use the “Websites” field. I store all my links/bookmarks/URLs on the topic of “Security” under “Websites”

    Change request:
    Copies the “Login” function and names this “URL”. Then you change the “URL” function…

  16. Show TOTP of selected login

    When multiple logins (each with their own TOTP) exist for the same site, the Proton Pass extension doesn't always provide the TOTP for the login that was chosen. Instead, it provides a randomly chosen TOTP from any of the available logins for that site.

    Please fix this bug so that the TOTP that is provided is for the login that is selected by the user. Thank you.

  17. Option to unmask all Passwords in Proton Pass apps

    If your Proton Pass app is securely locked and unlocked, it's nice to have the option to see all of your passwords unmasked, rather than having to click on them each time

  18. default 'Hide my email' alias leaks website name to Proton

    By default the Pass Extension will prefix the website name in the aliased email address. For example uservoice.pacify917@aleeas.com for this website.

    Since Proton / SimpleLogin need to route this alias it will remain readable to those systems - revealing the websites that a user has accounts on (uservoice in the example above).

    The prefix is unnecessary since it could be stored in the E2E metadata of the Alias entry or via a linked ProtonPass Login entry instead of in the email address.

  19. Custom Fields for Cards

    Why can't I add custom fields for Cards?
    There are way more fields important for my e.g. debit card, like IBAN number, ....
    Also I would like to add other "cards" like e.g. passport, ... and thus need custom fields.

  20. Improve QR-Code scan for 2FA

    I tried to scan the 2FA QR code of my insurance company with the Proton Pass app on Android. Unfortunately, Proton Pass does not seem to read the secret from the QR code. Proton Pass only imports a long string that looks like this.
