How can we improve Proton Pass?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Custom Password Fields

    Often one needs to generate something other than a password (say, for a security question).

    Proposal: modify the "add more" list of options to allow for "custom password field". This field would allow the user to regenerate a random password right in the login record. The field would have to be nameable, just like the custom text field.

  3. Public missing auto-fill list

    Please create a public list of pages that do not autofill, along with browser/OS/version information. Let the community add pages that don't work and vote on pages that are important to them to better focus development.
    Proton often talks about their community driven development, so this could be a great opportunity to show that. Of course, creating and managing this list shouldn't take too much development time, so an existing solution like GitHub could be used.

  4. Web app themes

    For the https://pass.proton.me/ web site there is no option to change the theme, it just shows in dark mode regardless of the settings on Proton.me

  5. Bank accounts item type

    I would like to be able to add my bank accounts such as checking or savings to Proton Pass and not just cards.

  7. Row Layout to hide note contents

    Offer row layout option similar to mail. Don't want to see the details of the selected note, instead want to click into the note to see the details.

  8. Option to hide All Vaults view

    You can create custom vaults but no option to hide default vault "all vaults", where all passwords exist.

    It's annoying that when you open Pass and you see all passwords in one vault, even though you've put all passwords and etc. to different vaults.

  10. Send credentials

    Please allow us to send password to people outside proton. E.g. send a password to a friend and after x minutes / x days the password is not available anymore. Allow the password to be protected via an own password.

  13. Add ability to block/unblock masked emails

    Having the ability to block/unblock masked emails would be helpful to help keep our inbox clean. As an example, you can unblock the email when you are expecting a password reset code and block it to prevent seeing emailed store deals/discounts. This would essentially function like the masked email manager on fastmail.

  14. Shortcut to open the password vault in a new window

    Could we have a shortcut way to open the Password Manager Vault in a new window.
    This is possible but cumbersome to open from the advanced menu.
    It's often needed to check the password entry on some sites.

  15. Always on top mode for desktop app

    In the desktop app implement ability to set "always stay on top" so that when filling data in a website the Proton Pass app stays on top allowing users to see notes/credit card details, instead of leaving the app to fill one field in the browser then go back to app to see another value, etc.

  16. Clickable links after Proton Pass login

    After we log onto Proton Pass, we have to open up a new tab for mail, drive, etc. Clicking the PP extension also opens a new tab, so it leaves an open tab behind it if we log right into PP from a fresh browser. To reduce the extra tabs and clicking, the suggestion is to have a few clickable links or icons to the PP page after we have successfully logged in, that way we can be redirected directly to mail, drive, etc. for smoother interface. Thanks for the consideration.

  17. Built-in translator

    I understand that a majority knows English, but of all the languages ​​I know I was never able to study it. Additionally, I receive emails in other languages, and Proton does not have this feature, which is important to me. Is there anyone who has the same thing happen to them?

  18. Save the window size and position when exiting

    So far, every time I open the program I need to drag the window open to see more of the program window. It would be nice if it saved the size at least. Thanks.

  20. Remote desktop manager Support - Devolutions

    Hi I am a big user of RDM which helps control the number of servers and remote connections I need to access.
    I requested a feature to them to support proton pass like they do with all the other password vendors.

    They stated they would love to and have tried to reach out and had heard nothing back.

    Please could this be looked into as it would help no for myself and I am sure many other users.
