How can we improve Proton Pass?

Use Proton app as 2FA without having to log in

I would like to use the Proton Password Manager for 2FA on my Proton Account instead of another authenticator. However, this is currently impossible since you have to login to Proton to use the app. Is it possible to incorporate 2FA for Proton on the home screen without logging in? So we can use an official Proton app for our Proton 2FA.

    Something Like Authy but for all platforms and systems.
    This needs to sync only what you need and be separate from Proton pass.Currently, I need a second authenticator to use any Proton products, as i need a 2FA code to login to Proton Pass.
    · I propose a separate 2FA application that has independent login credentials, that can store 2FA seed information only.
    · The required seed information, will need to be sync from Proton Pass.
    · Not allow you to manually add, Delete, download or read the seed information.
    · Needs to be cross platform & accessible online independent from your Proton account.
    This will allow anyone to be able to recover specific 2FA codes for sensitive services in the event of catastrophic device loss.This is not meant to be a replacement for Proton pass 2FA but rather a fail safe and easy 2FA retrieval.I have been lucky that I have had a 2FA app with online access/backup to recover my Proton account. As I was locked out of all my proton products and was not at home to access my backup data.

    Problem: Set 2FA in ProtonMail, set Pass to provide that 2FA. Then from time to time (during Firefox Pass extension update?) Pass logout and in order to login to Pass again, i need to use 2FA which i do not have since i no longer have access to Pass.

    I would like to use my Yubi key hardware device as my 2FA. I have done this with Proton Mail but can't set it up with proton pass. I think that this is a critical step in protection. Thanks

    Totally agree, we must keep a second MFA app (FreeOTP in my case) only to be able to login to Proton, that's counterproductive!
