Folders and nested subfolders
I want to be able to use folders and sub-folders. I use strongbox on iOS which is based on keepass. It allows for as many folders and sub-folders that you want. I use folders to keep my stuff organized. I don't like having all my passwords and whatever in one big long list. I also using keepass as a bookmark manager. I really like the idea of your "vaults", but again I have over like 3000 bookmarks and folders are really needed. Also attachments with built in viewer is also important. I like to convert a lot of websites to PDF and store them as attachments, so I can view them later. Keepass is the only one that can view said items, everyone else you have to download said item to view the attachment.

Folders will be a significant building block for Proton Pass that will go beyond just helping you organize your items. Introducing folders will require some rethinking of our cryptography model, which we’re currently working on. Eventually, you’ll also be able to share folders and subfolders just like your vaults and individual items, giving you another flexible way to share access.
Folders will be available in the coming months. As well as creating vaults, you’ll be able to create dedicated folders and subfolders to organize crucial information for quick retrieval: you can organize by project, by team, by year, or whatever else you need.

Humans are visual; machines are not. Dumping everything into a vault and saying use search to find doesn't work well for most. I would say the vast majority of folks don't need separate vaults and development put into them should have been spent on organization instead. Directory structures give humans a quick organization based upon visualization. Folders and tags should be high priority for Proton.

I know it's been requested separately, but Tags (aka Labels) would be a far superior feature than folders and I Proton could prioritise tags over folders. That said, either would be better than neither.

Yes, I am with everyone else here. I use StickyPassword currently and have everything grouped by folders. With nearly 600 passwords folders are essential.
I tried a generic CVS file export into ProtonPass and it just came out a mess in a single vault, utterly useless. We hope this is made available soon. -

Please give an update about the progress, and have this feature implemented in 2026 Q1. We'll have to use keepass until folders and subfolders are available.

Hope this feature gets priority. Such a basic thing and I'm surprised that Proton Pass is missing this. With multiple hundreds of entries a simple search is not enough.

Coming from KeePass, and knowing 1Password and Bitwarden as well, lack for folders/sub-folders is really something that's making migration cumbersome.
In combination with missing labels/tags (see https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/953584-proton-pass-authenticator/suggestions/46872289-tags-to-organize-entries) organizing things in ProtonPass is very hard currently.

Could we have a timeline on when the folder or sub-vault feature will be implemented? We should also be able to import from other PW managers with the folder structure replicated in PP. I like the idea of tags and labels but I also want to be able to view my passwords and notes in multiple ways. This is the main feature that is keeping me from switching from LastPass.

The lack of folder support is preventing me from moving my 700+ passwords from KeePass to Proton Pass. I need to preserve my folder structure to manage my archive effectively.
