Hiding the primary account address from the outside is a good practice. There should be a setting that allows users to prevent emails from being sent from the primary address unless specifically overridden by the user. Only addresses that are not the primary account address would be listed in the From dropdown. The last item on the From dropdown should be 'use primary account address' in case that is needed for some reason. This would protect the primary account from scammers and spammers.
