Introducing Docs in Proton Drive – collaborative document editing that’s actually private: https://proton.me/blog/docs-proton-drive
With Docs you can:
- Write with privacy — Create and edit documents within Proton Drive, knowing your contents are only accessible to you and those you choose to share with.
- Share and invite anyone — Invite other users to view or edit your documents with a single click.
- Collaborate in real-time — Changes are reflected immediately, ensuring every contributor always sees the most up-to-date version.
- View cursors and presence indicators — See who else is viewing or editing the document, enhancing teamwork and communication.
- Leave comments and replies — Add comments to share feedback without editing the document. Comments are visible to all collaborators, keeping everyone in the loop.
- Import and export with ease — You can upload .docx documents, edit them, and download in various formats like .docx, .txt, .md, and HTML.
An error occurred while saving the comment Steve commentedHave tried a few things and my comments thus far are:
pictures sometimes don't upload in correct orientation - so a rotate edit option for photos
uploaded several live photo items from Iphone 8 these where simple plain live photos, as well as some that had been altered on the iphone to have custom actions ex: loop, bounce
upon downloading from protondrive the actions where gone as was the option to view the live photo in its original form - the 1 second video is basically gone and is downloaded as a standard single frame photograph - not great to lose that live photo format.Upload and download speeds are great:
Upload document file was near instantaneous
Upload of a 476mb film clip was roughly 10 minutes (side note - remaining time on up/download would be nice) The upload did max my 5MB upload speed so the time may have been
bottle-necked on my end.
Downloading a 25MB photo was very fast <1 minuteAsk where to place a download beforehand, the popup to select placement after it downloads is jarring
Is the need to name the downloaded file because ProtonDrive can not see the file to use the existing name?
Is the lack of a thumbnail preview also due to ProtonDrive not being able to see the file? It downloads onto my device before I can actually see the item?
I like the downloaded file list, would be nice to have a mass/automatic clear option of uploaded/downloaded to see what is still in progress.
Upon uploading a file with a large number of items, the upload hung twice.
I found that logging out and back in reset the upload/download list. Kinda clunky way to do it, but it works.
That's it for now. Thank youP.S. the text window to write this feedback is much to small.
Would rather have the option to be asked each time before saving to ProtonDrive.
