This would really help: Month view is too cramped as a maximum of 3-4 events can fit into each grid (obscuring some which may be important), week view can display more but is too limited when later in the week, e.g. on Fri/Sat/Sun, because there may be a future events on Mon/Tue that need preparing for which cannot be seen.
A seven-day window of instead of a fixed Mon-Sun week view would strike a nice balance.

Though it's not a dedicated for this purpose, you can already click on a day and edit its start time, say the year part from "2020" to "2021", then press Tab / click another text field, and the calendar will jump to that date.

Widgets are available for Proton Calendar Android.
We are keeping this issue for the iOS app.

There is also Calendar Notify (an Android app).
The main reason I like it is that its integrated into the notification drawer (the thing you pull down from the status bar). It's always there pinned to the very top with the next ~5 upcoming events listed, color-coded, and clickable. I find it more convenient than a widget on the home screen for these reasons:
- You don't need to be on the correct home screen to see it.
- Widgets have been known to drain battery and depending how pretty they are, can slow the phone.
- A notification drawer "widget" takes up less screen space.A home screen widget could likely be the same across iOS and Android, though I'm unsure if feature parity is possible for the notification style "widget" suggestion above.
