As someone else mentioned, I'm also stuck halfway at the current moment from switching fully to ProtonMail. Mainly due to the lack of functionality of as send as or alias feature that allows external SMTP servers to be utilized to send mail.

What would be really good is if you guys created a feature like Google did with Gmail, where you enter the address and it requires verification, as well as SMTP authentication.

Currently, my email setup consists of ProtonMail as a primary, and Gmail with my personal domains and work email forwarded it to it, with the "send mail as" setup with those other email services so that I can send email. My Gmail is basically just a box for my email, with me not actually using the Gmail address at all. I really wish I could take the Google part out of it entirely because ProtonMail is better.

This sounds like a great feature, however, I'd probably get a Proton Disposable email server that is separate from the regular protonmail.com ones. As someone mentioned, email blacklisting is definitely a possibility. Not to mention, I'd personally love to see the ability to have at least 1 other @protonmail.ch or @protonmail.com alias for free accounts. Sounds like work, but would make the service even more flexible than it currently is.
