I fully agree with soulton -- I am glad to see this being worked on, but additional format file format support is needed. I consider ODF crucial as this is supported nearly everywhere (including Microsoft Office for Windows) and the default option on most open source office applications (including both LibreOffice and OpenOffice). Plain text format would also be a good idea to support as this is compatible literally everywhere regardless of what office application (or lack thereof) someone is using, and Microsoft Office formats (both the original, e.g. doc/ppt/xls, and their new "Office Open XML", e.g. docx/pptx/xlsx) formats would be a good idea to support due to the prevalence of their software.

For sharing documents, export to PDF (if not direct editing of PDFs -- though that wold be a nice addition!) would be a good idea since PDF viewers are almost as universal as plain text support.

I would also like to parrot the desire of several users below and suggest adding spreadsheet support -- and add a request for slideshow presentations.

Devuan aims to be as close as possible to Debian without using systemd, and I can, indeed, do everything on Devuan that I can do on Debian -- except run the ProtonVPN client. In fact, you can look on DistroWatch's most view list to see a bunch of Linux distributions that don't use systemd and thus can't benefit from ProtonVPN without the user being familiar enough with the command line to set up OpenVPN, which is far from ideal for non-geeks. Even among geeks, there exist quite a few people who don't want things to be more complicated than they need to be, and configuring OpenVPN for ProtonVPN is more complicated than simply clicking a button in the app.

By refusing to remove the systemd requirement, a LOT of Linux users, both expert and newbie, are being left out in the dark. Combine this with the fact that I can't run the ProtonVPN client despite using a distro that is basically designed to be Debian (an officially supported distribution) without systemd, and you can see why I would not pay for ProtonVPN if it wasn't already included in my ProtonMail subscription -- why would I want to pay for something I can get support for simply because some people refuse to accept that systemd is not the only init system in existence and that distributions like Devuan exist to allow people to use mainstream distributions like Debian without systemd?

Not all Linux distros have systemd available. I do not like using systemd, so I use Devuan Linux, which aims to be as close as possible to Debian but with systemd removed. This makes the official ProtonVPN client completely useless to me, and I find using OpenVPN to be a bit cumbersome, especially when changing servers.

The ProtonMail bridge is quite useful for allowing old-fashioned me to access my encrypted e-mail from my favorite e-mail clients without having to resort to using a web browser. Also useful would be a ProtonCalendar bridge to allow me to use my favorite calendar application with my encrypted calendars.

Bridge application emulating WebDAV and/or NFS. WebDAV would be best for providing a newbie-friendly experience as some desktops include native tools for mounting a WebDAV directory, and standalone utilities exist for doing so.

Without this, ProtonDrive is useless to me as I find it easier to insert a flash drive or else PGP-encrypt files on Dropbox.
