Yes, syncing would be a good start.
It would be even better if the Proton contacts "App" could replace the Google address book and supply the dialler, K9 on the phone and Thunderbird on PCs - and everyone else's favourite mail and phone apps too presumably.
I could adopt a lot more of the Proton system if that worked. Maintaining just one list of contacts for everything ( and then just one calendar) would be lovely. I note other people worrying about harvesting of data below - I just don't use those apps!
