    Same issue on many sites. See also the main request “Separate username & email field” — either reliable field-type detection or this per-item toggle would fix it.

    Still happening in October 2026 with the browser extension, on many different sites: when a login item has both an email and a username, autofill always fills the username, even when the login field expects an email. We need a fix on our side: either reliable automatic detection (respecting type="email" / autocomplete attributes), or a per-item setting to choose email or username as the default identifier.
