There is a drive for Windows and Mac because they have a large user base. I think if you make a drive client for linux the linux user base will grow fast. Because Linux users are mostly already extremely privacy minded. I have nothing in the Big Tech cloud and now do a lot of self-hosting to keep it that way. Would love to drop some of that work load if only someone would support linux. So Proton, here is your big chance. I understand the CEO of proton believes the linux user base is to small. Then maybe he should consider why it is small. You lack support for one of the most privacy minded OS in the world. You do not support it, you do not get those users. Only Proton can break this circle by creating a Linux client for Proton Drive.
I would like to end with a question. There is already a client app for Mac. I believe Mac OS runs on a Linux kernel. Is it that hard to adapt that client to run on Linux? Not a programmer myself so I was wondering about that.
