For ecologic reasons, it seems critical to me tha users get used to delete not relevant informations instead of just archive.
All appointment related email shall be applied an expiration date for example, through a selected date when reading the email, or via labels as some people have proposed before. But it would exclude the ones who use protonmail freely and are the ones who need the most to tidy the inbox.
I thought about a selectbox with 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, custom date proposal. And maybe enlarge filters to help select date related mails.
Filter mails by "has an attachment" may help to clean-up too
