Since Proton Calendar relies on shared links and ICS subscriptions, delays can happen because external calendars may only sync every several hours, sometimes even up to 16 hours depending on the provider . That makes it unreliable for real-time availability and definitely increases the risk of double bookings.
A native embed feature showing only free/busy status would solve this cleanly while preserving privacy. It would remove the dependency on Google and make Proton much more practical for business use cases.
