I have a visual impairment that makes reading black text on a bright white background especially difficult, particularly at night. Although the surrounding interface is dark, opening an email suddenly exposes me to a bright screen, which causes eye strain and makes reading much harder. A setting to override email backgrounds or render messages in a dark theme would make a meaningful difference for users with accessibility needs.
Given how widely dark mode is used today, especially for comfort and accessibility, I'm genuinely surprised this capability isn't already available. It seems like a natural extension of the existing dark theme and would greatly improve the overall user experience.
I hope you'll consider adding this as an optional feature in a future release. I believe it would benefit not only users with visual impairments but also anyone who prefers a consistently dark interface.
