Trying to persuade business contacts to Proton as their platform of choice, away from Google. I have hundreds of users of an application in daily use that currently offers Google calendar sync. If I had an API, my customers would be in a much better position to ditch Google and its invasive practices.

Serdal is bang on, IMHO. Focusing on API access has the potential to give you a lot more bang for your buck than client side development, and would need very little marketing support. I even have semi-technical customers vibe-coding their own small apps these days - this is the future. You have a terrific privacy-centric architecture that deserves to be used more. Developers are usually also enthusiastic evangelists of companies that get it right technically. As Churchill put it "Give us the tools and we'll finish the job"
