    The email headers do not include the timezone, they use UTC (+0000), unless of course you are in the +0000 timezone. However, when replying to an email, Proton Mail uses the local timezone when quoting the sender's email. For example:

    On Tuesday, July 28th, 2026 at 9:00 PM, anonymous wrote:

    The person you reply to can easily work out your timezone because they know when they sent their email. In some contexts, this is an unnecessary privacy leak. Users can address this by simply overwriting what Proton Mail included. However, it is very easy to forget to do this. Proton Mail should provide a way of specifying what timezone the quoted replies should use.
