    @ Mason - Android is a google product. As such, it is a monsterous hack-and-track system. The solution here would be for the app to be available only from the protonmail website. Anything from the google store or through google play services is guaranteed to create a profile on you - one that, of course, will be shared automatically with "3rd party services" and "official requesters." In light of that, I agree with your goal.

    Since I completely distrust ANYthing google, I support the idea that the phone app versions should be available directly from protonmail.

    @ Christopher Dalton - Well stated. I agree wholeheartedly.

    4 those who disagree - remember that the NSA is still collecting and storing all data traffic within the U.S. and anywhere else they have tentacles. Remember Edward Snowden?
