Please don't do this :-) There are tons of secure chat apps. You are unlikely to beat them in popularity, features, or even security. Focus 100% on creating the best encrypted email in the world.

Please don't do this :-) Secure storage is complex topic. You don't want to get sidetracked and spread yourself thin. Focus on email. Secure storage is something Tresorit and SpiderOak do very well.

Password manager is a really bad idea. On Android, for example, password managers copy passwords into clipboard, which broadcasts the password to all applications. Browsers have built-in password managers that are easier to use and oftentimes more secure than 3rd party password manager. Firefox, for example, performs client-side encryption of passwords before sync, so it is about as secure as ProtonMail.

If my laptop gets stoled, then my boot-time password kicks in and protects everything. There's no point in distrusting the client. You can always make it optional by including "Remember me" checkbox that is unticked by default.
ProtonMail first needs notification when PM's browser tab is closed:

Showing notifications when browser is closed is then something that depends on the browser.
