    Please do this, and have a permanent, default setting for it.

    Update: They added a temporary sort to the desktop app, but still not in mobile, and still no way to persist the setting.

    Agreed. I'd be nice to auto-delete specific emails based on a date (or set a rule based on a tag as mentioned below.).

    An example would be that I can set the date after I take a flight to delete its confirmation email, since it's no longer relevant after that.

    I am an aggressive email deleter and periodically cull my archive. It'd be nice to be able to automate that.
