Option to alphabetically sort labels
I would like the option to automatically sort labels alphabetically whenever I create a new label. This would make it easier to find a particular label in the side panel.

hover shows actual email address
Proton Mail used to display the email address of the sender when hovering over the sender's name in a list. This features seems to have disappeared !
It is especially useful when an email appears which could be spam with a faked FROM name to show the FROM address. Then you can see Amazon / Ebay/ PayPal / YourBank is actually lyingthievingspammer@123456.co.jp or whatever.Another post mentions similar about links.
This is a really useful feature.
Bring it back ! Pleeeeease !4 votes -
Restore position of 'unread' filter button to left column on desktop
When using the Column layout on desktop, the new position of the Unread button anchored to the right of the top bar (the one with the 'select all' button) means that for larger monitors with greater real estate, it's now in a much more inconvenient and further away position compared to when it was above the list of emails.
I believe it was on the top bar, but in line with the rightmost side of the left pane. I saw this as quite a logical place, as you would usually be looking at the list in the left pane when…

Search date filter use standard date format
Protonmail search web, when searching in mails, trying to filter by date or date range.
- Manually clicking on arrow month by month.. no no.
- We can edit the date year at least but still have to enter manuall month name but only it's short version or the filter fails/reset.
- I'd like to search like anywhere else typing dd/mm/YYYY or dd-mm-YYYY please let me filter by standard date format !
Example 01/01/2020 and not 01 Jan. 2020
Thanks ! :D

Critical Security Vulnerability: Missing Default-Deny Policy – Why Whitelist Fails Against Zero-Click Exploits (State Trojans)
Dear Proton Team,
Currently, Proton Mail under "Blocked and Allowed Senders Lists" offers only a whitelist as a positive exception in a system that standardly accepts everything ("Default-Allow").
The "Allowed" function serves merely to move important emails back from the Spam folder to the Inbox. It does not prevent the receipt of emails from other domains.
The "Blocked" function serves to block known, malicious senders.
The Fundamental Security Problem: For users who need to protect themselves against Zero-Click Exploits (e.g., advanced state trojans like Pegasus or similar spyware), this "Default-Allow" model is fundamentally insufficient and dangerous.
The Impossibility of a…

Support more than 4 Security Keys
Proton supports only 4 hardware security keys - this is not enough. Especially since using biometrics counts against the 4 key limit. I have three desktop computers which run my Proton accounts, and I have mobile devices which require 1 key. So I can't use the biometrics option without forcing a game of musical chairs with my security keys. I'm forced to continue using and subscribing to my 1Password account rather than Proton Pass until this limit is increased.

Dynamic email / alias addressing
This would be most likely against the way email is working nowadays, but could every email I create be sent from dynamically created alias so I do not own a real, static email address as such and I am not prone to any spam, phishing attemps and so on?
I could imagine me, my digital identity, my emails being of a digital pod which could be contacted only when I would have made a first, initial attempt.
I am not even sure if this technically makes sense,

Address-specific Whitelist for Enhanced Security
I propose adding a whitelist feature that can be linked to specific email addresses.
Some addresses are intended for highly restricted communications (e.g., online banking). By allowing users to whitelist only approved domains for such addresses, we can significantly reduce spam and phishing risks while minimizing unnecessary storage consumption.
An account dedicated solely to banking communications could be configured to accept emails only from the bank's domain (@bankname.com).
Given the power and potential impact of this feature, it requires clear warnings and user education to ensure safe adoption.

Block emails by Top-Level Domain
I suggest improving Proton Mail's blocking feature by allowing users to block emails based on top-level domains (TLDs).
Many people fall victim to spam despite themselves. Offering them the ability to block TLDs they are certain they will never communicate with (e.g., *.ru, *.xyz, etc.) can help restore a cleaner inbox for the user, while also avoiding unnecessary storage — both for the user and for Proton.
Since this feature is powerful and could inadvertently block legitimate emails, it should be accompanied by clear and precise explanations to warn and educate the user.

when thunderbird moves a message to Spam, have the Bridge do normal proton spam processing
Like the title says - if I move a message to Spam on Thunderbird, have the Proton Bridge do whatever is needed to update the Bayesian filter and (optionally - don't actually care about this part) put the sender in the blocked filter (this is of limited usefulness as the sender tends to keep changing on spam messages).

Notification when an event i added in a followed calendar
When your family are adding events to the calendar it would be nice to get a notification when added and not only 30 min. Before or the day before. It would be nice to be aware that someone has added an event to his/her calendar when you are a family with a lot of things to do... like us

Please stop enabling new UI features by default – and let us hide the Unread button
I would like to see two changes in Proton Mail:
Allow users to hide the permanent “Unread” button at the bottom of the mobile app (Android). I don't need it, especially when it constantly shows “Unread 0”, and it unnecessarily takes up screen space.
Don't enable new features such as Email Categories by default. I never asked for categories and didn't want them, yet they were automatically enabled and I had to spend time finding the setting to turn them off.
One of the reasons I use Proton is that I prefer software that respects user choice. Automatically enabling new…

Seperate Folder and Label naming so they dont conflict
Subject: Allow identical names for folders and labels
Folders and labels serve completely different functions—folders store emails exclusively, while labels tag them for context.
Currently, Proton blocks users from giving a folder and a label the same name (e.g., a "Business" folder and a "Business" label). Forcing them to share a namespace creates unnecessary friction and forces awkward naming workarounds.
Please decouple folder and label namespaces so we can use identical names for both entities.1 vote -
“Read Receipt” as DEFAULT for Mac app users? Thanks.
It would be very helpful, IMHO, to have a default setting option to request read receipts for outgoing messages. Thank you!
