Extended notifications
Even if it may be a privacy issue, there's should be an option to enable extended notifications: notification should display a summary or the initial text in email body, to be able to dismiss or delete email without opening the app. This is especially useful with wearable device.

Enable Collapsing of Nested Sub‑Folders in the Android Proton Mail Client
Implement the ability to collapse and expand sub‑folders inside parent folders on the Android Proton Mail app. This functionality, already present on other platforms, helps users keep their mailbox organized and reduces scrolling through long folder trees. Adding a simple tap‑to‑collapse control (or a long‑press menu option) would make folder navigation more efficient and align the Android experience with the desktop and iOS clients.

Restore the Tracker‑Shield Indicator in Proton Mail Mobile Apps
Add back the visual indicator that shows whether incoming messages are being protected by the legacy tracker‑blocking shield on both Android and iOS versions of Proton Mail. Users rely on this cue to confirm that tracking pixels and malicious links are being blocked. Providing an option to re‑enable the old shield UI—or a clear, in‑app status display for the new shield—would improve transparency and trust in the app’s privacy protections.

Hide-my-email Without Simplelogin
An increasing number of services are explicitly prohibiting the use of disposable email addresses, including those from SimpleLogin. This means that Proton Mail cannot be used for those services unless the direct, unhidden address is exposed to those services. This is eroding the value of this feature.
A recent support email from one of these services stated it clearly:
"After reviewing, the email domain, passmail.net is using simplelogin.co mail server and is a disposable email service. We do not allow email changes/signup to [name of service] using a disposable email address."
I use this type of alias to ensure each…

Which Excel to VCF tool works offline without internet?
I work in an environment where internet access is restricted for security reasons. I have a large Excel file containing contact details like name, phone number, email, and company, and I need to convert these contacts into VCF (vCard) format for importing into mobile phones and email clients. Most online Excel to VCF converters require an active internet connection, which is not allowed in my case. I am specifically looking for an offline Excel to VCF tool that can be installed on Windows and works completely without internet access. Is there any reliable offline software that supports Excel to VCF…

Feature Request: Customizing SMTP Token (Password) Format
The SMTP mentioned below refers specifically to the SMTP Submission feature and is not related to the Proton Mail Bridge app.
Please implement one of the following options to allow the use of "Strong Passwords" for SMTP:
Adopt the Proton Pass mechanism: Allow users to adjust the length and format of the generated SMTP password.
Or allow manual input: Enable users to set their own custom password (and of course, password I have input must meet Proton’s minimum security and strength requirements).

Outbound links in desktop app should use system URL handler
In the Linux (Ubuntu) desktop app, outbound links say they will open in the default browser, but actually always open in Chrome (which is not set to default on my system). For links in the body of an email, it is possible to copy the URL and open it manually, which is less-than-great user experience but at least provides a workaround; but for system links (such as when the desktop client has an upgrade available) no copyable URL is provided.

Security: Ability to separate the login address from the default sending address
For greater security and to minimize hacking, I would like the login email address to remain as secret as possible, and therefore used as little as possible, so that it is reserved for login purposes and not used for other communications.
Therefore: be able to separate the main login address from the default message sending address.

Proper Birthday Age Tracking
Please change how Proton calendar birthdays work. Birthdays should store a birth date, not just a recurring event. Apple Calendar calculates and displays the age each year, for example “Anthony’s 22nd Birthday.” Proton should implement a dedicated Birthday field with a birth date you can set so the calendar automatically shows the correct age every year on the birthday.

Proper Calendar Event Invitations with Accept / Decline / Tentative
Summary /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Add full support for standard calendar event invitations so recipients receive actionable event requests (Accept / Decline / Tentative) instead of a passive .ics attachment.
Description /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
When adding participants to a Proton Calendar event, recipients currently receive an email containing an .ics file. However, this does not appear as a proper event invitation in many calendar clients and does not offer standard response options such as Accept, Decline, or Tentative.
As a result, the event is not treated as a true meeting request but rather as a file attachment, which significantly limits usability.

Account-Based Calendar Integration on macOS (No Public Links)
////////////// Summary //////////////
Add native macOS calendar integration using real Proton account authentication, not public/shared calendar links. If possible also add editing rights.
////////////// Description //////////////
Currently, adding Proton calendars to macOS requires using public calendar links. This approach has significant limitations and does not meet the expectations for a secure, professional, or privacy-focused calendar integration.
Public links:
- Expose calendar data via static URLs
- Cannot reflect user permissions properly
- Are unsuitable for private, work, or shared calendars
- Do not align with Proton’s security and privacy model////////////// Problem / UX & Security Issues //////////////

Enhanced filter and newsletter management
Someone already suggested dynamic filter creations and it's an amazing idea. I want to expand it and suggest something similar for newsletters.
The pop-up saying "This message is from a mailing list should include 3 actions, and after one is selected, the pop-up should never appear again for that newsletter:
- Accept
- Unsubscribe
- Filter (this prompts the user to select what to do with these emails like in the filter creation flow and automatically creates a filter for the newsletter)3 votes -
"Mark as read" button closer to shorthand content
I typically only read the sender & subject line before marking an email as read, because the content of most emails is typically not important to me. This proportion of "typically" is upwards of 80%.
It is annoying to typically mark most of my inbox as read, when the "Mark as read" button is so far (in physical screen distance) from the subject lines which I am scanning.
One solution, which may not be the best, is to have a non-default setting to move the "Mark as read" button adjacent to the "Star conversation" button2 votes -

Support older MacOS versions (e.g. Mojave 10.14.6)
Is it possible to support older OS versions with a desktop app? Even a reduced feature set would be fine.
My OS version is MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 for several reasons (stability, performance, etc.).
I still like the convenience of a desktop app to handle my various email addresses for quick access (versus web interface).

Hard wrap lines at custom widths
When writing plain text email, I typically want (or sometimes need) to enforce a maximum line length/column width in my email to ensure it is easily readable. Most commonly this is 72-80 columns, but can occasionally vary to 100-120 columns. To my knowledge, Proton Mail doesn't provide a way to hard wrap lines in this manner. So I currently have to write these emails in a separate text editor which does hard wrap lines before copy-pasting it into Proton Mail.
This is obviously quite tedious, and it would be a lot easier if Proton Mail included this feature. Perhaps there…

Proton Calendar Feedback Link Goes to Wrong Forum
The 'Request a Feature' link in the Calendar tab of Proton Mail for desktop goes to:
https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932842-proton-calendar
Since the Calendar UserVoice forum has been merged with Mail, the link no longer works. Currently it this URL goes to the Lumo feedback forum. It should go to:
https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail-calendar

Mail and Calendar view both simultaneously. /ProtonMail-desktop.deb
Find it inefficient to constantly switch between Mail and Calendar within the same window when need to view both simultaneously.
ie. you can't have distinct, separate windows for Mail and Calendar open at once. I guess its not suited to multi monitor setup ATM.Its great though so keep it up:)
