  1. To-Do / Planner / Task Application

Summary: Stand-alone application or extension of Calendar that has task cards that contain basic information - similar to Jira tickets.
Single task card should contain ID, summary, description, user defined labels, status (e.g. To-Do, In-Progress, Done), due date, etc. And preferably user definable fields.

Purpose of the app is to have a personal backlog of tasks, Kanban view and daily, weekly and monthly breakdowns of tasks with user definable filters.
Main benefit being integration of tasks with Mail, Calendar and Drive enabling users to link other items, making it a functional software ecosystem.

Bonus points for linked Gantt charts, and…

  2. Shred message(s), for immediate deletion without going through the trash

Sometimes I get transient emails, like notifications from services that I don't want cluttering up the trash. I'd love an option to manually shred them (maybe option + delete button), and as an action in the filters. You can add additional guardrails ("are you sure), just allow me to ultimately turn them off

  3. Configurable reminders for muted email categories

The new email categories—such as Social, Promotions, and Transactions—are a great way to keep the inbox more organized. However, when a category is muted, it can become easy to forget to check it altogether, even when new messages have arrived.

I would love to see configurable reminders for individual categories. If there are new messages since I last viewed a category, Proton Mail could show a subtle reminder:

    • At a chosen time, such as every evening
    • At a configurable frequency, for example daily or weekly
    • Only when the category contains unread messages since it was last opened

    Ideally, this would…

  5. Add support for browser email verification

There's a new browser standard being worked on by Google Chrome and gmail to remove the authentication step when registering or signing in on a website.

If Proton Mail adds the mail provider support on their side, it would make future support for this seamless authentication system that much easier.

  6. Support Email Security Gateways (ESG) the way Google and Microsoft do

Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 already support ESG on incoming and outgoing emails for years. More users and organizations are required to run a gateway nowadays.

What BOTH Google and Microsoft already provide:
    1. Declare your gateway IPs as a trusted source.
    2. Detect the last hop prior to the gateway (finding the real sender IP).
    3. Reject anything that did not come through the gateway IPs.
    4. Enforce TLS on the connection from the gateway.
    5. Support routing outgoing emails through the gateway.

I hope Proton can add support for these 5 features first. Thank you.

  7. Per-event free/busy status toggle in Proton Calendar (essential for appointment scheduling)

Currently, Proton Calendar only allows busy/free status sharing as an all-or-nothing, calendar-level setting. There is no way to mark individual events as "free" or "busy" on a per-event basis — a feature that exists in Google Calendar, Outlook, and most major calendar applications.

This limitation creates a significant functional gap in Proton Calendar's appointment scheduling feature.

    The Problem:
When a user creates a public booking page, Proton Calendar determines available slots based on whether any event exists on the calendar at a given time. Without per-event free/busy control, this leads to inaccurate availability representation:

    Scenario 1 — Over-blocking: A user…

  8. Please add “Edit as new message” for Sent emails (and ideally other folders).

I often need to resend the same email to a different recipient. Today I must copy the body, start a new message, paste, and re-add attachments. Thunderbird’s “Edit as new message” does this in one click: new composer with subject, body, and attachments, but empty/editable recipients.

This would save time and reduce mistakes. If others request this too, please consider prioritizing it.

  11. Contacts and calendar sync bridge for major platforms (iOS/Mac/Android/etc.)

I am a big fan of how seamlessly Tuta integrates contacts with my iPhone. I am currently trying out Proton as well as Tuta to decide which one to use for my emails in future. Why don't you develop a similar feature for contacts and calendars on the major platforms?

In the Apple ecosystem in particular, certain features could be used much more seamlessly if contacts and calendars were managed via the native interface.

  12. filtering by categories

Following the implementation of the Categories functionality, is it possible to add the Categorie as a condition (like subject, sender, recipient, attachment) for filtering emails?
    Thank you very much!

  13. Allow inbox resizing of columns in ROW Layout for PC/Web app (from & subject)

Allow inbox resizing of columns in ROW Layout (from & subject)

When not using in full screen, the From column get narrow and culls a lot of the info while in full screen, it will still not expand enough to show the entire length of some From information while the Subject column has tons of empty space to spare

  15. Limit filters to only function within select folders

I'd like to see option within Filters to limit them to only function in select folders. Currently, if you create a filter it will be applied to ALL folders no matter which one, be it Inbox, Spam or whatever. However, if I want to create filters that specifically ONLY operate within Spam folder to make repeating annoying spam mails less annoying, I can't do that because the filters I will make will also affect mails inside Inbox when they arrive even though I don't want that to happen.

  17. Calendar Scheduling for Passport Appointment

For a Philippine passport, you need to book an appointment and select your preferred date, time, and DFA branch during the booking process. I think a calendar reminder with the appointment date, required documents, processing details, fees, and branch information would be really helpful for keeping everything organized. For more details about the Philippine passport appointment booking process & choosing right date, time, and branch checkout https://dfapassportappointmentt.com.
