  1. Allow any email alias to be used when SMTP Submission is authenticated.

    Problem Statement
The current SMTP submission authentication system in Proton Mail & Calendar requires users to authenticate with the exact email address they're sending from. This creates unnecessary complexity and limitations for power users and developers who need flexibility in email handling.

    Current Limitations
Single authentication constraint: Users must authenticate with the same email address they're sending from
Token management overhead: Requires creating separate aliases and tokens for each service that needs to use different email aliases
Multi-user environment issues: Particularly problematic in systems like Ubuntu where different user accounts (root vs. logged-in user) have different usernames
    Developer workflow disruption:…

  2. Description field in Booking Page

The booking page is a great option but would suggest to add a text field where somebody can briefly describe the intention of the booking.

  4. Filter Export or Filter Consolidation

I am using a lot of filters to move my emails to folders automatically. Most of these filters are generated by using the ""Nachrichten dieses Absenders immer verschieben" feature. But now I have hit the 250 filters limit, and I'm not nearly done with filter creation.
The way I see it, there are two possible solutions:
    1. I need to be able to export all filters, whether they are created automatically, or by hand. Export all filters as Sieve filters, which, I guess, is the format they are saved as anyways.
Using the export, I can then use external tools…

  5. Proton Calendar as the default app for iCal

On macOS, it should be possible to open iCal files directly in Proton Calendar. Currently, Proton Mail/Calendar cannot be set as the default application.

  6. Filters to apply to existing messages when a flag changes

Add flag changes as a trigger for filters. For example when an email is marked as read, check if a filter is applicable and then process it. Other triggers could be applying a star or manually applying a label.

If the server load would be heavy, it could be set up as an up to 24-hours until the filter will apply to spread the load.

My pipe dream for my Proton (and work) mailbox is for all mail to land in my inbox and be filed away automatically into a folder after i read it

  7. Allow labels to be marked as current or archived

Basically, I have a lot of labels from an old project that aren't applicable anymore. I'd like to mark them as 'archived' so I can still search on them, but they won't be an option to apply to new items anymore. With too many old labels the list is very long. By archiving some this list well be much easier to scroll through.

  8. Domain names that are phonetically dissimilar and easy to say over the phone

The choice of domain names is a pretty awesome feature for Proton Mail, but it's very frustrating that the letters used are too phonetically similar and make it difficult to say over the phone. I've always struggled to remember a consistent radio call chart of letters, and I get so nervous about saying my email address over the phone that I do anything I can to avoid such conversations. I've even had a customer service person get the wrong the email address despite me trying very hard to spell it out, and I've been avoiding calling them back to fix…

  9. Allow custom accent colors for individual email accounts in the Android app

Currently, when multiple accounts are logged into the Android app, they are distinguished only by email address and a predefined color. Having multiple accounts yields in my case to random colors, three having the same color, one having another color.

Users cannot assign custom colors to specific accounts to make visual identification easier.

Please add an 'Account Color' setting in the Android app's account settings, similar to what is available on iOS (if it exists there) or web, allowing users to pick from a palette to distinguish their accounts.

  10. Add option to state availability of calendar items

Make day events by default as unavailable in booking pages. now that is not the case.

Also consider creating a flag in a calendar event that makes the invite free or unavailable. Sometimes you have these calendar events that are just reminders.

  11. Toggle for defaulting "To" details to always display

In settings for mail, would like a toggle option to default show "To" details instead of having to click arrow to display them. Now that I have email aliases, I would like to know at a glance which alias these emails were sent to without extra clicks involved.

I really like the email@email.email with the date and time displayed underneath that is added to the "To" details when you click the "v" show details button, but would be so much happier with it being automatically displayed by default.

Would be nice to have the ability to run sieves on a fixed schedule automatically, for example this is useful for sieves that cleans messages older than *** on every YYY etc

  13. "Sender contains" filter

When I create a filter and try to use "Sender Contains", it seems proton is looking for the actual email address and not even looking at the sender's display name.

For example, I have an email from "xyz store", but the email is "mail@sendfoxmail.com". My filter says if "Sender Contains" "xyz store" then move it to "abc Folder".

However, since Proton is not looking at the Display name, it does not apply the filter.

Desired solution: Proton looks at the sender's email address AND Sender's display name.

  14. Select display address when inviting someone to calendar events

I have several addresses I use regularly——one for personal, one for business, etc. I've created a calendar event and am inviting a client as a participant, but I'd like to be able to show my business address as the invitee, not my personal Proton address, which is my account default.

I could just make my business address my account default, but I don't want to do that for 5 different reasons that I won't bother listing here.

In short, it would be great if I could choose the address to display in the calendar event invite——in this case, my business…

  15. Each alias needs a signature of its own.

Supposedly this feature was added earlier, but the link to it is nonfunctioning. The user should be able to add a different signature to each alias rather than a single signature for all. If this already exists, please show where and how.

  16. Verification badge

Since the recent campaign using proton to impersonate recruiters or high level profiles to get information or spread malware, would be good to have a "Verified" badge.

Both a page on the website to check if an address is verified and a badge next to the email for other proton users, like the "Official" for Proton.

Although I understand proton is also used by people that want anonymity, there are also journalists and other figures (especially since the introduction of the Sentinel program) that would like a more public-facing approach.

Verification could be done without handling IDs by either verifying…

  17. Message threads should not include items in Trash

When I have put a message in the trash, I do not want to see it, and yet when I get another email from the same recipient, somehow, the message in trash is included and at the top there is a banner saying that the thread includes messages in trash.
Who thought this was a good idea? Just saying, I throw messages out for a reason, and that reason is not to see them again. At a minimum, adding a setting to omit deleted messages from a thread should be available.

  18. View Starred / Favourite Contacts

Proton Mail for Web should allow marking individual contacts as "Starred" or "Favourite".

Coinciding with that, the Contacts pane should have a "Starred" or "Favourites" tab in addition to "Contacts" and "Groups".

Although this is not a critical feature, there are already at least two good reasons for it:

    1. All of the extra encrypted fields in Contacts makes Proton Mail a good place not just to store your e-mail contacts, but your entire address book, including phone numbers, mailing addresses, birthdates (etc). However, this leads to the addition of many seldom-used entries that one doesn't necessarily need or want to…

  20. Lack of "Tasks" and/or "To Do" is degrading product adoption and leaving the rest of us open to alternative products.

The very basic functionality of task and to-do lists was included in the very first Personal Information Managers (PIM) from the 1990s, and was a primary motivation for the adoption of these sorts of software (and hardware) products -- motivated users were tired of a stack of paper scraps and post-it notes in their purse or wallet or written upon their forearm.

While pleased to see Proton moving to effectively compete with Google Workspace and all the related products, the absence of this very basic functionality makes for a product that cannot effectively replace the sorts of enterprise business systems…
