Auto delete emails after x days (in inbox and other folders)
Auto delete after x days.....
1) from a Information control point of view, it could be useful to have a maximum life of all mails before being auto deleted;
2) For long term use the space is limited and may fill up, especially if used with large attachments.
Being able to auto-delete emails after x days would help ensure that it does not fill up.
The number of days must be customisable per account as one size will not fit all!

that you rock if they did that, I am quite surprised it is not done, Proton is high on security, why not add this so it make things even tighter. I would also be nice if people could add addresses so they by pass and are auto deleted. Tutanota Already does it for spam why not do it for all spam and trash.

Hi, you can see this suggestion here: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-feedback/suggestions/7158399-auto-delete-for-trash-folder

hi there, yes I'd love to auto delete email based on filters, like newsletters, like they are relevant for a month and then I give no fucks and they are taking up space and I don't want to spend the time cleaning my inbox when I could basically set a filter. The filter could work the exact same way as the labeling filter currently in place.

How about a AutoDelete feature for specific folders that deletes emails after a user defined amount of time, could be Hours-Days...This could be different for different folders like, sent emails-drafts etc.

Set a time for each folder (X days) after which emails in this folder are deleted automatically. Extremely helpful for the "Newsletters"-folder.

I don't think this exists currently... It would be great to have an ability to customise a specific folder to archive or delete emails automatically after a time period. For example, a folder for Newsletters which are interesting enough to not delete immediately, so I pop them in a Newsletters folder, but any email in that specific folder, I can get them to automatically be deleted if they're older than a year old.
I keep most emails around forever, as some obscure emails from eons past still end up being useful in the future somehow. So I don't want this to be a blanket thing on my whole inbox.
And this isn't exactly a real problem I'm having. Currently I can just go in once a month (or so) and delete all emails up to a particular date. But to have an automatic rule set up (for specific folders only) would be really great.

This is a feature I would use on most of my emails.

Most people subscribe to newsletters, and more than they can read within reasonable time. It would be nice it unread newsletters could be automatically deleted after X amount of time. That would keep the inbox clean without to much manual labor.

Yeah I'll put three of my votes on this. I've achieved similar feats for gMail with relative ease using Google Apps Scripts, but I've always wanted it built-in to ProtonMail. It would make the system perfect. Filters and Auto-cleanup scripts working hand-in-hand XD
I'd want one set to auto-archive anything unread after 7 days, and another one set to move mail from the archive to trash as long as it isn't starred after 365 days. This is how I had my gMail set up.

This would be useful as an option within filters. In Gmail, a Delete action is available in filters but if one wants to delay that, one has to use a script. Currently there's no Delete option in ProtonMail filters at all, but if one were to be introduced and with the option to apply a Delay, that would be comparatively simpler.

Do not declutter your Inbox/Sent folder/Archive: Avoid it getting cluttered in the first place! This feature could come in very handy for this.

Scheduling Emails In Your Inbox To Be Deleted After A Certain Period Of Time (I.E. You Know You Need An Email For The Next 90 Days But Then Want It Deleted)
