Own PGP keys
Add ability to upload own PGP key (normal or e.g. RSA 4096 or ECC).
ProtonMail now has full PGP support and address verification. Please read more about it here: https://protonmail.com/blog/address-verification-pgp-support/

This can be closed now due to the v3.14 update.

Especially external aliases and own PGP keys for those external aliases are expected. Then we can really use ProtonMail.

That is very much expected feature also by me! Ed25519 (with custom KDF value) and RSA 4096-bit at least.

Actually from the web gui, it's impossible to download an attachement encrypted with another key than the one in protonmail (which I don't use because I already have keys in circulation). Protonmail want to decrypt the file and when it fails it won't allow to download it, arghh. Moreover I didn't succeed in forwarding the email to another address, it seems protonmail didn't allow that (can't guess why !). So I got an encrypted file I can't access.
It would be nice to import my own keys to decrypt the file. At least, it would be nice to be able to download the attachement and forward the email.
This is very annoying. -

I want to be able to use my own PGP public key for all email body encryption within proton's servers. I would then use IMAP with thunderbird+enigmail and K9mail+open keychain to access mail. All email incoming to proton that was not already encrypted would be encrypted using *my* PGP public key before being stored on the server. eMail I send that goes to users outside of proton (IMAP or web) would obviously not be encrypted by proton (I would handle that in my IMAP client when desired). eMail that is going to other proton users would use the default proton encryption for the other user, but my sent folder would always have the body PGP encrypted with my key. This scheme would be optional per user so those who need, or can only handle, a web interface can use the current model. I won't get into browser add ons, it's obvious. Personally I hate "web mail" when great full featured IMAP clients exist. I like my android K9 IMAP mail and want to keep it. Like many I too believe that if the eMail can not be stored locally on my devices then I don't own it or fully control it and I can't depend on it being reachable in the future. What I suggest is not some holly grail it's the eventual solution. Get there first and you'll be the winner else you'll just be an alternate/secondary provider for people.

For the same reasons as I voted for IMAP, this would also work for me. I currently have existing PGP contacts and use Thunderbird on linux. Importing my own keys for the web client or android client can work as can IMAP for linux.

My main motivation to use ProtonMail was to be able to communicate safely with PGP users. I am very disappointed if I can only communicate with ProtonMail users.

I would concur. The ability to manage and import keys is important. Particularly for communicating with people who don't use ProtonMail.

Greater ownership over PGP keys in general would be a great feature.

I would love this feature too, it's actually the first thing I looked for after making an account. I was disappointed to see that this doesn't already exist.
