  1. Save inline or attached photo to Files (app) on iOS

Viewing a message in the Proton Mail app for iOS, I would like the option to save an inline or attached photo as a file - using the Files app.
Saving a photo to Apple Photo's app is not always what I'm looking for.

The workaround is to save to the Photos app then to use the convoluted (via Share icon) to copy to Files.

  2. Please add @pmail.com as a url

    Hello everyone,

I just did a usertest for your landing page and was asked for additional feedback. AFTER submitting the test I was thinking that probably I would love it if you had @pmail.com. It's close to @gmail.com and so it's easy to spell it out with people who are primed to understanding that instead of the cumbersome pm.me and proton.me.

As it was too late for the test I am posting it here.

Thank you kindly and have a lovely day.

  3. Avoid localized/translated email reply text for privacy reason (recipient can guess my native language/country)

My Mail desktop app language is not english, when i reply email, the historical conversation is added into the reply BODY. Problem is that this history is prefixed with the text which match my Mail app language:

    non-english-day-of-week, 22. non-english-month-name 2025 .. 20:05, Other Party Name <Other-Party-Email> wrote(not in english):

this way I am disclosing to the email recipient what may be my native language/country of origin, while I would prefer they do not know from which country i may be. Also when often communicating in english it is not convenient for the recipients to have the history prefixed by…

  4. Just enter your event the same way you would tell someone: Natural Language Input

In Fantastical you can literally just type:

Grocery shopping at Wegmans Thursday at 5pm
Lunch with Matthew at 123 Main St at 1:30 Monday
    Family vacation from August 9-18
Staff meeting Tuesday 2pm alert 20 min
Soccer practice every Tuesday at 6
Sam's birthday every year on 5/16
Pizza party on the 2nd Friday of every month at 1pm
Flight 593 on Monday 3pm EST to 6pm PST

Want a reminder instead of an event? Just type in "task", "todo", or "reminder" before your sentence:

    todo Pay rent
    reminder Buy basil

------- This makes putting events a lot more convenient,…

  5. Add Folder‑Search Filter When Moving Emails in Mobile Apps

In the web app, when I move an email to a folder, a filter appears that lets me type the folder name—or part of it—to quickly select the desired folder. This feature isn’t available in the mobile apps, even though it would be very helpful for avoiding scrolling through all the folders.

  6. Dynamic auto reply

Currently, Sieve filters in Proton Mail are limited to basic actions such as sorting, discarding, or moving messages, and the built-in autoresponder only supports static replies. For many business and professional use cases, it would be extremely valuable if Proton Mail supported:

    1. The Sieve vacation extension (RFC 5230), which enables automatic replies to incoming emails.

    2. The Sieve variables extension (RFC 5229), which allows dynamic insertion of values (such as the sender’s address, subject line, or other header fields) into the auto-reply message.

With these two extensions, users could create more powerful and personalized auto-replies, for example:

    Confirming receipt of a…

  7. Lock the proton calendar apps

I have noticed today that we can set up a new email for recovery within the proton calendar app. That's make me worry that a malware or intruder could be able to access our calendar and then replace a recovery method by its own email, instead of one we might own.

  8. Separate Calendar notification window for desktop app

Add a Outlook-like calendar notification stand-alone window for the desktop app. The standard Windows notification bar get way too crowded, and I need a persistent dedicated notification window to keep them up front and in view.

  9. Antidote linked to Proton Mail

The corrector "Antidote" helps me a lot when I wrote a text or an e-mail. It works for French and English.
It's not possible to link Antidote to Proton Mail for the moment.
It would be very helpfull to have this link, so when writing an e-mail, it will be checked during the typing.

  11. Calendar Day View Popup

It would be nice to allow for a popup view of the events for the day (similar to Samsung's default calendar app). For example, if I have my calendar in month view but I click on one of the days in that month, a popup with the events for that day appears. You also have the option to hit the "+" button to add events for that day (taken to the event entry screen) or just tap away from the popup to return back the the calendar view (month view in my case).

Here is an example: https://techwiser.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Samsung-Calendar-Event-Open.jpg (from this…

  12. csv

Calendar should be able to import and create events from .csv or comma separated values. I generate my work schedule using a spreadsheet, export as CSV, and used to use for google.

  13. Integrated mail and calendar app on iPhone

I would like to have an integrated mail / calendar app on iPhone, as Outlook does. This would prevent the requirement of having two separate but related apps, and simplifies manipulation.

  14. Weekly/Monthly view (and more..) in mobile calendar app

Weekly/Monthly view (and more..) in mobile calendar app.

I think we need some more views in mobile calendar app to make us better experience, instead of just Schedule View and Daily View. Especially when you are/try to move from other calendar app.

In here or Reddit I saw different opinion and I would like to wrap it up with mine here.

    Views we need:
    - Weekly Schedule View (Google Calendar schedule view style)
    - Weekly Timeline View (Outlook Calendar schedule view style)
    - Weekly Vertical view (Muji Schedule Planner style)
    - Monthly Schedule View (Google Calendar schedule view style)
    -…

  15. Proton Mail Business: Journal Inbox for Compliance

Proton's stronger cryptography makes it more difficult to meet certain compliance standards that require retention policies and auditability.

There is a deleted thread about being compliant with the German GoBD which applies to most German Businesses. [https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail/suggestions/46327108-gobd-conformant-archiving-for-business-accountsl] [https://ao.bundesfinanzministerium.de/ao/2023/Anhaenge/BMF-Schreiben-und-gleichlautende-Laendererlasse/Anhang-64/inhalt.html]

Of couse implementing a country specific legal framework is probably out of scope for Proton Mail.

But a lot of solutions can be integrated by having a 'Journal Inbox' which receives a copy of every incoming and outgoing message.

These are available in many other Business Email products:
    – Exchange Server: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/policy-and-compliance/journaling/journaling
    – MS365: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/policy-and-compliance/journaling/journaling
    – Google Workspace: …

  16. Highlight last read message in email list

Highlight the message last read in mail list. This way, if there are several messages with the same subject etc., you know which in the list you are returning from.

  17. Visual distinction between "all day" events and events at a certain time

In Google calendar, all day events have a solid fill, and "timed" events have a border. This is helpful because often people (and I) will just make an all day event to signify something I need to remember, and don't actually need to prepare for at a certain time. Its nice to see that distinction on the monthly view.

  18. Add a Proton-specific bank or sounds that can be played when specific senders send emails, or when other criteria are met.

Add a Proton-specific bank of sounds that can be pre-selected to be played when specific senders send emails, or when other criteria are met. User uploaded additions to the list should also be permitted within user accounts. Explore similar rule-triggered flash-screen or pop-up options to accompany sounds or to operate silently. And of course, don't forget the quick pull-down on-off toggle switch!

  19. Disappearing Calendar Events

In messaging contexts, it is well accepted that there may be times where you want to use disappearing messages, even despite the fact that your messenger (i.e. Signal) provides a secure, e2ee platform. Ultimately, this is because those messages, for whatever reason, are not worth keeping around past a certain point. And in many activist communities, messages or group chats could be used to correlate activity, attribute actions, or perform social network mapping. People then decide that the safest thing is to let those messages disappear to reduce the potential impact of a future "breach" of one participants' device.
