@FT - I’ve stopped caring precisely because Proton seems to be completely indifferent to these user concerns. I have a lot of confidence in Proton when it comes to encryption and security, but when it comes to listening to users, they clearly don’t.

They launched a revamped interface before implementing these features, which has demonstrably caused many to leave Proton just as quickly as they joined.

If you have Android, however, this issue should be resolved. It works for me now. It just took them 10 years to fix it.
The solution should be here: Settings > Mailbox Settings > Auto-forward

Pretty crazy that this was requested in 2016, and work started in 2024 and still nothing in march 2026.

Switched from Gmail to Proton today, really hope to see this happen; this was my basic workflow on Gmail.

Is this ever going to make it to the desktop browser or app? I've been waiting on it for 10 years.

From me this is the most critical feature Im missing when transferring from gmail to proton. I mainly handle email in browser

I noticed this behavior this morning as well. When I trash an email by pressing the T key, the next email in the list has a selected rectangle around it but is not actually selected in the list and is not rendered to the mail view. I'm glad they're fixing this.

i wouldn't want this unless it was able to be turned off. going back to my inbox after deleting an email instead of jumping to the next one that i may or may not want to open right now, is one of my favorite parts of proton mail over gmail

So embarrasing Proton - this took me half an hour. I'm not even a frontend dev and this thread has been open for 10 years!

more then 1 year....not ready yet? it allows for a much faster "flow" when clearing the inbox, similar to features found in other advanced email clients.

I am blown away that such a basic feature to kleeping Ur email clean is not available and has not been available for over a year. Sadly very much destroys my confidence in Proton.

If it's not implemented in December, I will cancel my subscription and move on.. it's such a basic feature!

This is also the main stumble block for me coming from gmail

Feature requested in 2016, work started 16 months ago for a mobile OS with less than 30% market share. I'm guessing this feature makes it to desktop in the mid 2030's
