Profiles can be set up to exclude your country on Windows and Android now, and a more fine-tuned whitelist/blacklist is going to be available during Spring & Summer 2025.

This is the only thing that keeps me from using ProtonMail exclusively. I only want notifications from those I label as VIP contacts. I need to know when I get certain emails but I can't be disrupted with other emails coming in constantly.
I don't want the easiest solution offered by the OP, however. Build out custom notification options.

Voting for this because I want to have notifications only for my VIP contacts.

This is not even that hard to do and it's such a helpful feature. I wish I understood more about how ProtonMail prioritized features.

Fantastical is end-to-end encrypted and I have to use Outlook for work. I'd prefer to use Proton Calendar instead of Google Calendar, but I need to be able to see all my calendar events from work and personal in one place. I don't really want my work seeing my personal calendar, so I have no option but to continue using Google Calendar. :(

Exactly! I'm actually shocked ProtonMail allows this. I use Airmail and Canary also for different accounts and both those apps let you create alternative passcodes different from the iPhone passcode.
I live in a large urban city where a lot of people get robbed and are forced to give over their passcode or thieves target people using their passcode at a bar and then steal their phone. WSJ just did a piece on this today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUYODQB_2wQ
